Hi, I live with a serious case of arachnophobia where the sight of spiders sends me into panic attacks. I just want to know are there any mods out there where a model replaces it or covers it in any way? Or have there been any dev announcements regarding it?

Don’t think so, at least i have not heard of any mod/addon for it.
Model swaps are illegal so that’s not going to happen.
Given that they like to put spiders in every xpac you’ll probably be cured before any kind of support happens.
I hate spiders with a passion, but gotta deal with it.

I have a severe case of deep water phobia/thalassophobia too, should we replace the sea too?

you can buy the spider mount and counter your fear with exposure

The phobia understander has logged on I see. Phobia means irrational fear, you can’t rationalize out of it.

Omfg, even you saying that made my guts turn. I lasted the best part of 15minutes, until I had to go to the darker water, and bailed.

I know, i don’t have deepwater phobia but the game has an insane vibe to it and it gets super dark. Even i got scared many times playing it. It’s rare for a game to make me scared

You can if you expose yourself to it little by little. I know that for a fact. You’ll still fear spiders like hell but those on your wow screen will eventually stop triggering your phobia.

Ya, it’s called exposure therapy, and it’s one of the only things that helps people with phobias 
I used to wince at spiders too, now I ride around on one because it looks badass as Shadow. Deep dark water though, no ma’am.
phobia of open oceans is logical though, you can actually die and the risk is very high. spiders on the other hand ,not so deadly. icky yuckie etc yes but few have the potency of venom to cause serious harm to humans. meanwhile 100% death if you are alone in ocean deep blue dark sea

Works for deep water too. I mean I think it does. Thalassophobia it’s called and I think I might have had it. But maybe it was just common sense. Anyway, I did some diving and once during the dark and it wasn’t too bad. But I’d rather not do it again. If I want to see the deep sea, I’ll turn on Discovery channel.
You know the only way of conquering fears is getting past them?

I heard that new PvP mount is a spider too, bad news for us.
I have a pretty big phobia too. I would say that the majority are very cartoonish. Very few really look or act like spiders. I have played for a very long time and only a few times have they made me scared. I think the spiderwebs scare me more than the spiders.
My fears still exist but in WoW I am ok. I am not saying it will be the same for you, but maybe give it a try or watch some videos to see how bad they made you react.

Maybe try think spiders dont real in game.
They dont attack you from monitor. Nothing pain.
