Arcane Mage DPS

Hello. I wanted to ask some advise about DPS. My arcane mage is at max level and her item level is 208. I followed some guides but it seems I can’t DPS very well. Do you have some tips or suggestions of guides I could use ?
Thank you.

Mage-specific forums or discords are probably the better place to ask. I would love to help you, but… I play Fire, not Arcane. No clue how Arcane’s current iteration works.

Icy veins typically has a pretty reliable guide that is simple to follow. Apart from that, I’ll agree with the previous poster that the mage discord is a pretty good place to start when it comes down to asking questions and looking for resources. Although you’ll have to be a big more specific with your questions, asking how you can do more dps is way too broad. The guides should cover the basics if you read them thoroughly and then apply what you’ve read on training dummies. LFR can also be great for some hands-on practice.

And this part of my advice you can disregard if you’re not comfortable with switching specs, but I’ll say it anyway: fire and arcane are not the most beginner-friendly specs, as in, it can be easy to not achieve your full output. If you want some quick results and don’t mind it, you can go frost temporarily instead, at least until you master arcane a bit better. The reason for this is that frost is very much a “press a shiny button”-spec that is quite easy to play, and you’ll perform well even if you don’t really know much about it. Arcane and fire are more dependent on their burst windows, and if you go “bust” during those, you’ll see very low numbers. Frost is very forgiving in the fact that you can make mistakes but they won’t really impact your performance too much.

Just something to think about, I’m not telling you to give up on arcane, but if you want to perform better quickly, its probably the easiest way. Then again, you would have to craft new legendaries for it, so it might not be as easy as I make it seem. Just know that arcane takes some getting used to, so don’t get too frustrated.

Thank you  I will try Icy veins
I don’t mind the time
