I hate Nether Precision. I would not take this talent if I could. Unfortunately it leads to [Amplification] and also [Improved Clearcasting] if you do not want [Slipstream] (yet).
The problem is the 20% buff to Arcane Blast is too good to miss when it procs, but it requires two Arcane Blasts (very slow) and screws up any kind of fluidity - it should be just one Arcane Blast and adjust the numbers.
The next problem is that Clearcasting Arcane Missiles is also too good to skip over, and then that means that you’ll likely be overriding your Clearcasting since you must call Arcane Blast twice. That then means that you need to also take [Improved Clearcasting].
But it still leaves you with Clearcasting stacks which MANY TIMES CANNOT BE CLEARED. Because it goes like this:
- Clearcasting stack
- Arcane Missiles → Nether Precision
- Arcane Blast
- Arcane Blast → Clearcasting
and back to step 1.
This is a bad design.
I propose Nether Precision is just one stack, not two, and Arcane Blast does 30% extra damage so that the DPS numbers match somewhat.
