Combustion :
-100% crit chance which is around 60-70% net damage increase
-100% kick protection (only instant)
-100% free mobility (no cast)
-specific mechanic related to pyro proc increasing even more the damage output
Arcane power:
-30% damage
Keep the difference in the damage output but change Arcane Power to make your casts uninterruptible. this a minimum for an Arcane mage having all spells on the same school
Probably even more, with infernal cascade giving ~25% extra dmg and crits in PvP being buffed to 175% up from 150%.
And it’s nerfed to 20% in PvP.
In PvP, it’s the opposite, due to arcane lacking the extra mobility from Displacement, you can’t cast nearly as much. While fire not only does hit harder, but also is mostly instants and isn’t scared of getting kicked on fireball either.
Nerfed to 50% in SL, also PvP nerf still stands at 33%.
100% crit and 60% dmg are 2 diff things, but yea we have to run talents to make it work, basically everyone runs the same talent build because otherewise u loose so much dmg…
fire might be more viable, but it isn’t that much stronger than arcane like you make it sound.
about the mobility and sustain ur completely wrong, arcane dominates sustained dmg over fire, well actually everything dominates fire oin sustain, firemage dmg is split 90% into burst and 10% into sustaiend being the higest min/max in the game probably, thats why its never rly taken into rbg teams, afly spriest and boomie offer more reliable source of constant dmg, and arcane does too, but still not as much as those 3 classes.
play master of time, u can blink 2 stuns and alter time reduced cd, its WAY better than anything else.
or check out spart100 on youtube, he does alot of arcane pvp.
