My wish list of changes that would greatly improve my gameplay:
Clearcasting - charges building up over time when out of combat (spamming arcane explosions before boss pull is not fun, pvp would be more enjoyable aswell)
Base Blink off GCD
Arcane Harmony - charges building up over time when out of combat (hitting target dummy outside of mythic+ dungeon and running outside and back in during countdown to save stacks is another annoyance)
Arcane Barrage - more reliable splitting to targets around main target
Keep Resonance talent in mind [Arcane Barrage deals 15% increased damage per target it hits.], when thinking about barrage splitting to other targets. It makes very big difference, 60 percent is no joke… especially when playing legendaries that increase barrage damage. It happens very often, that enemies are hugging main target, yet… the barrage doesn’t split into them.
EDIT:
This is big ask, but if Radiant’s Spark last stack (4th) was guaranteed crit, then it would’ve solved many struggles during mythic progression. Once hitting for 65k and pull later hitting for 130k (crit), really messes with boss timers.
Some sort of baseline interrupt protection would be nice, as it stands, getting interrupted as Arcane is just about the same as being pacified.
We’re heavily reliant on casting for damage and we’re the only spec in game that gets locked out of pretty much everything - including our interrupt (CS), mobility (Blink), defensive (PB) and our primary CC (Poly) when we get interrupted.
We also don’t have anything that can be interrupted from any other school barring Frostbolt, and no1 in their right mind would interrupt us if we cast that…
Agreed, Arcane Barrage splitting is so sh*t compared to frost mage’s, which cleaves mob one kilometer away and arcane cannot. Good example is last boss on MOTS when adds come and stay right below boss and Arcane Barrage just ignores them
As arcane mages in pvp, how do you deal with being interrupted? I find it so annoying when I have a DH or a warrior zooming around me and stunning/interrupting me over and over. As fire I would dragon breath them and then poly but when I’m arcane I don’t know what to do XD
It won’t always work, but learning how to fake-cast will go a long way. Alternatively, relying on instants to kite when a high-pressure melee is trying to sit on you.
Affliction Warlock is the same, and no. They won’t change that, we were begging them for years to add spells from different schools or just change some of spells’ school.
