Arcane Surge bug?

Shifting Power’s CD reduction and Ice Floes have no effect on Arcane Surge. My question is…bug or intentional?

on the beta we all reported it. it is what it is.

If you talent into it in the Mage tree it works fine with most abilities, including Arcane Surge.

The Night Fae one seems to be restricted to certain abilities now, though it works perfectly fine with Ice Floes.

From my limited testing the Night Fae version doesn’t work with: -

  • Arcane Surge
  • Arcane Orb when you’ve taken the Charged Orb talent
  • Radiant Spark (talent)

Further testing: -

  • Neither version works on Radiant Spark (talent)

IF still doesn’t work with AS for me :man_shrugging:
Good to know, cheers

also, snowdrift doesn’t work with ice floes

I noticed this. I think it’s new abilities probably haven’t had something tagged onto them to let them be modified by things like ice floes or shifting power that say they reduce “mage” abilities.

Wondering if they just don’t have a “mage” attribute in the code or something

It may just be oversight, as the time these abilities co-exist with the Night Fae Shifting Power is only for a few weeks, and even then it’s now confined only to Shadowlands content.

…Or it feels like new spells from DF aren’t effected by SP

Most are affected but only by the talented version, not the Night Fae version.
