So I’ve been farming Zin’Rok for a lot of time now and was pondering on how unlucky I have been. I have the formula here to calculate your percentage.
So this assumes Archaelogy Rares have a 1% chance to drop. I can’t find much information but apparently most people believe its 1%.
I have 200 troll solves done at 450 skill level.
1 - (1-0.01)^200
Is the chance of getting it within 200 solves.
Answer = 86.6%
(1-0.01)^200
Is the chance of not getting it within 200 solves.
Answer = 13.4%
So going by those stats either a lot of us are very unlucky or the drop rate is lower.
Around 450 solves 1-(1-0.01)^450 puts you at 99% chance of getting it within those number of solves.
I guess this means if you haven’t crafted 450 yet your still in pretty okay RNG levels and if your way above you are insanely unlucky.
If people have had the rares drop it would be nice of yous to comment here on what number you solved your rare on so we could see what the averages are.
To have a chance to get item with 100 fragments your previous solve should be 35 fragments. To have a chance to get item with 150 fragments your previous solve should be 45 fragments. You counting from wrong perspective)
The drop rate varies from rare to rare. From my experience doing lot of archealogy in original cata, a number of the rares are significantly more rare than the rest. These include jin’rokh, the dwarf staff, tyrandes doll, crawling claw, and the qiraji mount. Possibly the shield also, not sure on that one as it was originally added in a later patch, after I had done the big grind.
