Itâs crazy how you can just ask people to post certain stats yet everyone is losing their minds about it wouldnât matter because its RNG. Obviously I know itâs RNG.
How does what Iâm asking affect anyoneâs life enough to have to reply with something other than an answer of what I was asking for.

Wouldnât mind getting some of that bad luck protection and bugfixes up in this rng hell. I feel bad for casters having to do both dwarf and tolvir for their epics knowing that many people in original couldnât even get them throughout the whole expansion.

To answer your Question first:
I had shield after 89 fossil solves.
Troll solves 165 no sword.
Dwarf solves 120 and no staff
Nightelf only 34 and obviously no trinket
Second i found some data of old cataclysm archeology on wowhead, didnâ found the link again, which assumed that the epics have an 0,5-1% solve chance. Since the solve chance doesnât increase you can calculate how many solves you have to do, to have certain percentage to get your desired item. The solve nubers are pretty high and can cause depression. I wished i better not calculated them.
Assuming a 1% drop chance: To have a 95% chance of getting it you need 298 solves of the specific race. To have a 99% chance to get it 458 solves. And for a 99,99% chance you need 877 solves. And there will still be the posibility to not get it.
Assuming a 0,5% drop chance youâll need 598 to have a 95% chance of getting an epic. For the 99% chance you need 918 solves. And last but not least to have a 99,99% chance you need 1757 solves.

i got the nelf trinket at 62 nelf solves and the fosils shield in the same hour at around 120 fosils and plus 500 overall. currently at 420 plus solves in trolls without sword and around 200 in dwarfs for no staff as well. i am also at 1020 global solves. i will tell you i did this with two characters first with warrior and now im spamming on mage because its more efficient and seemed i got no luck on the warrior at all. but the feeling is very bad
I might be way off on an assumption here, but is it possible that this is related to this two-stage fix for archeology that they are working on?
The first part they fixed on 2nd of May, but the second part:

Iâve asked people on our server that actually managed to get the lv 85 epics from Archeology, when they maxed their archeology and all of them did it after 2nd of May.
I might be completely wrong here, but Iâm starting to get the feeling that this RNG luck might actually be related to a potential bug for those that maxed archeology before 2nd of May.
Anyone that has those lv 85 weapons (staff/sword) that can confirm when they maxed their archeology?
dont think your theory is real, just because i leveled yesterday archaeology on a new character and i am currently on him at 250 or more solves overall. i leveled on my warrior it before 2nd may and got the epics on 5/5/2024

ive maxed archeology on day 1 of cata prepatch. im 170 troll solves no sword 99 dwarf no staff 48 nelf no trinket and 62 fossil WITH shield and mount+pet
So far :
339 Trolls
34 Night elf
199 fossils
307 Dwarf
Total : 903 (with vrykul and nerubian)
not a single lvl 85 epic (sword / staff / trinket / shield)
i would say that 80% people i know has procced in 1-80 solved and the other 20% is 80-200 solved.
i think some chars are cursed, ill just wait for hotfix to go live. this 7th day hotfix isnt even life afaik

I got the sword today with 94 troll solves, 288 total.
Havenât seen any other 85 level item. As for Dwarfs, some common relics seem to no appear at all making harder to get staff.
Troll 194 no sword, nelf 25 no trinket, fossil 113 got shield, dwarf 120 no staff.

Dwarf 243 no staff
Fosill 244 just got the last one Pterrordax Hatchling. Done with Fosill.
90 solves. I was very lucky.
Dwarf - 240 solves, no staff
Troll - 302 solves, no sword
Fossil - 152 solves - shield
Iâm staying mainly in EK as I want to get the sword before spending all the time in Kalimdor for chance at Tolvir digsites.
I have 42 solves in Nelf with one epic toy and cloth chest discovered.
All other races I have all rares.
Like 50-60 digs after hitting 450 to get ZinâRokh
2182 total solves, 216 nelf (no trinket), 616 dwarf (no staff), 896 troll (no sword). very nice
