In the current state of classic, and with some changes being a thing, Devs have already eliminate bad design that were a thing.
I really think that in it’s current state archaeology is just a bad design and should be tweeked for many reasons :
-contrary to other profession which offer gear, the grind to get the item you want may take several days of played (some already have way more), all items are 359 i don’t see why it should be harder to get than engi helm for example.
-the droprates are not known by the players, you just have to rely on others experience although it’s clear that the droprate is known by at least the devs and communicate on it won’t change anything.
-there is no badluck protection, you could go 1000+ solves and not get it someone could go 20 and get it, the level of variance and luck involved isn’t healthy for 2024 standard, I wouldn t say so if #somechanges weren’t a thing.
-for a part of players it’s all about minmaxing and gatekeeping bis items behind tireless grind feels like grinding to r14 back in vanilla or wow classic. SoD proved that it’s possible to go bzck on things which were badly design then and shouldn’t be now.
-I don’t understand why, several items were added in a hotfix recently, but one was left of the pool, disallowing players to complete the fossile family and preventing them to get way less (50%) spawn to make their grind easy, it seems very weird that you can get 359 weapon but a simple pet is not available before 525 archaelogy
There is many options that would make archaeology bearable, I don’t know if any dev will read this, but bad design shouldn’t be kept as i think that was the main idea behind somechanges.
