With recent archon talents reveal it really feels underwhelming, that everything is focused around Halo - ability, which is not even used outside raids.
I’d assume thematically, many people expected Archon to be something in the middle between holy and shadow. So let me propose this:
remove dependency on Halo, either create a new ability or make new ability to proc of existing spells (for example for holy priests make it proc of Holy Words spells, for shadow - of dots, mind blast).
Now the new ability itself, make it so that for holy priests, we reach out to borrow a power of shadow to heal allies; for shadow make it so they reach out to the light to do holy damage.
This new ability can be an aura, buff, new form, but please remove dependency on halo.
I can guarantee you’d press halo if it did 6x more damage.
The hero tree needs more visuals mostly centred on its theme of empowering cooldowns, but halo’s not really a problem button to focus on. There’s issues with how the tree’s laid out given both dependant talents are so far down / have other very compelling options, but there’s nothing inherently wrong with halo as a spell.
If only they made Halo our DOT spreader we would smash that button.

Archon’s halo rings & passive damage /cooldown amps seem so boring, while it may feel really nice to play. It doesn’t fit the whole Archon fantasy at all to me. The text description they add to the Archon Hero talents seem to be such a massive clickbait it isn’t even funny.
I had hoped that they did something more like the following below for archon:
HOLY
You receive a new cooldown ability, that will act as a shapeshift. A big holy/spirit entity merges with you, granting you new powers for a brief duration.
A transformation that you can enter which grants you 4 new spells (perhaps replaces things such a smite, renew, etc or uses a new bar like rogue stealth or druid beast forms). Four buttons that either do a lot of damage, a strong st heal, a strong aoe heal and maybe something else. BUT during the transformation you’ll be drained of your mana. Upon expiring or early tapping out you’ll regain 50% of lost mana. Strong / long cooldown.
SHADOW
You receive a new cooldown ability, that will act as a shapeshift. A big shadow/void entity merges with you, granting you new powers for a brief duration.
A transformation that you can enter which grants you 4 new spells (perhaps replaces things such a mind blast, power word shield, etc or uses a new bar like rogue stealth or druid beast forms). BUT during the transformation you’ll be drained of your health until you’re 20% hp. Spell casts cost health during this cooldown. The less health you have, the more powerful your abilities. Upon hitting 20% hp/duration expiration or early tapping out you’ll regain 60% of lost health. High risk, high reward.
I’ld say this or something similar to this would properly fit the Archon fantasy and numbers may need to be tweaked, but I’ll say this would actually fit the whole description they gave to Archon!

But, I do wonder if Archon will allow use with Divine star in the final version though, since both are options on the main priest tree.
Seems odd that picking up Archon hero talents makes no mention of that ability taking away one of the two main choices there. Either that, or they may be planning to retire Divine star or relocate it.
