This is a fairly simple question, but I’ve seen diverging opinions on it: put simply, are all the player classes around the same power level, or do some come out on top?
For example, are mages/spellcasters in general more powerful than simple warriors or hunters? Or are these more physical classes augmented in other ways that can match the power to summon giant balls of fire?
What about a warrior and a paladin? Is a paladin just a warrior infused by the Light, and thus inherently superior, or do warriors have other advantages that balances it out?
Personally I’d say that it’s situational: mages might be great from a distance, but the moment you start bashing them in the face they suddenly lose all advantage. I also think warriors have some abilities (rage?) that elevate them above common soldiers, so they do more than just swing a big sword around; and hunters of course have pets and magical bowshots and all.
Warriors are the most powerful always.
Anyone who disagrees is wrong, bad rp, and clearly dont play a warrior.

Bad rp.
EDIT: And void elves are worse than every other race on each class due to the void.
I’d say hero classes>mages>others

It really depends on what you mean for power: classes like DKs and DHs are going to have an upper edge in combat because they are death machines, basically.
In general however, I like to think certain classes have an edge over others. Like for example, a paladin can be a serious threat for a death knight.
A rogue against an armored bulwark is going to curse his luck. A mage capable of freezing you in place is going to put up quite the challenge for the same warrior who just defeated the rogue.

This. I’ve had this happen to me once for fun with a friend for laughs. He oneshotted my char, a prot warrior on 100% hp. Shamans can be NASTY. On the other hand, all chars can be nasty. It only depends do you mean IC or OOC.
Id say IC DK-s and DH-s have a distinct advantage since they are made to crush their enemies. On the other hand, mages can acomplish some trully massive spells.
Death Knights and Demon Hunters are the most powerful because they’re Hero Classes while everyone else are Zero Classes

As far as raw 1v1 goes, I’d say a DK usually comes out on top, with DH as a close runner-up. Though lorewise, paladins and shamans are nothing to scoff at either, they’re basically the proto-hero classes.
End of the day, it’s all situational. Every class has its own strengths, and some classes have more than others. But the idea that every character in RP needs to be equal in powerlevel is a wacky one indeed, usually brought forth by the GoT RPers who want their Lannister swordsman to stand toe to toe with a half-demon elf or an undead bulwark of dark magic.
I will say though, that for magic-oriented combatants, their power level is directly equal to the creativity of their players.

Every class, at the peak of what a hero can achieve, is roughly equal. No class is inherently better or more powerful than any others.
The mage can cast enormous fireballs and blizzards, but the warrior can leap through the air and achieve herculean feats of strength.

Obviously mages are the strongest. Anyone who disagrees is dumb. Therefore my ancient Arcane spells can overwhelm you before you even have time to blink. It’s only reasonable, really.
