Are Blizzard pushing tokens too much?

Hmmm, let’s see. Current economy pushes players to buy token a little bit yes. Specifically during first weeks enchants and gems were extremely expensive, I was not in hurry but people who were eager to climb rating or push keys/raid probably bought expensive stuff and I believe considerable number of players bought at least 1 WoW token to buy required stuff.

I have too many alts and the gold made by them during leveling almost all of it goes to 2 crafted Work Orders, weapon enchant and other enchants/gems, you basically give away all gold you had earned during leveling.

Gold situation of my alts is like that ;

Character 1 = 21.350
Character 2 = 23.650
Character 3 = 20.200
4 = 19700
5 = 18950
6 = 22000

etc etc.

In long term, having alts will provide you some gold, I have almost 200k right now and I’m also done with almost all BiS requirements and that gold is effortlessly earned, earned through things that I do while waiting on SoloShuffle ques, doing a few world quests is better than standing still.

Gold doesn’t rain from above like it did during WoD/Legion but there is also no scarcity, the game still provides you enough gold except sometimes you have to wait for prices to drop which is fine.

I did not comment on Token Prices. I commented on the gold rewards. They are nowhere near what dropped in the past. And this has nothing to do with mission tables.
All past expansions the emissary chest would drop anywhere between 2.7 -3.5k. Dragonflight is 1.5k and if you lucky you get an additional purse with anywhere from 1.5k - 15k but you need to be really lucky for any of those to drop.

Right now players (excluding AH sales) are not able to raise enough gold to play with tokens. This means they will have to either purchase the sub or buy a token themselves and sell to to continue playing.

But you have some actual world quests that give you 600-800G which was never the case before. All the dragonriding ones also give you 500-600G, and there’s always mutiple of them up, and they are easy and short.

It is obvious that they are pushing token
profession revamp
no daily callings/mission tables or any easy gold income
those 2 things told me what they are up to already in BETA when i was testin so i prepared myself :smiley:

2 times a week and there is rarely more then 1 of them up per rotation (not the 4 dragonriding wqs) we are getting about a third of the daily gold we got in shadowlands and the gold you got from shadowlands was like 3 times less then what you got in legion and wod. Its never been this bad since well MoP and that was a completly different era with 1 million goldcap. I have made a suggestion to make the dragonriding wqs daily atleast. just something to put us on par with shadowlands, im not asking for legion gold again

you’re mythic playing what? you cleared LFR and did some baby keys you don’t even need consumables for, getting gold is very easy if you’re decent at the game, if you’re not you don’t need it anyway, if you still want it for some reason then learn to make it somehow, people are trying to say that professions are making people buy wow tokens cause they’re expensive but they’re only expensive because other players make it so, not blizzard, if they’re expensive there’s obviously enough gold in the economy to sustain those high values, the problem that you don’t have that gold is your problem

To only play the bits you enjoy.

Like owning a house, but paying a cleaner, Gardner and cook to take care of all the stuff you don’t want to do.

If you love levelling an alt, do it. If you hate it, pay gold and stand in Azure span for an hour and you have your alt maxed.

How do you level from 60-70 by standing still? What am I missing?

Simply having tokens is a problem.

The tokens need changing so that they can be bought with gold to buy game time (get excess gold out of the system), but cannot be bought with money.

Yes only boosters and bots and scammers can Make gold today.

Transmog market is dead

Only because its raining mogs in dragonflight - just like it rained mounts in SL. There does not seem to be a balance anymore.

because tmogs are account wide…one time and finish

One problem on AH is the undercutters, there was a time that mining was still a bit proffitable, now it’s just… not worth the time!

The gold income, from what I can see, went back from being primarily passive to being something you have to set aside time for.

That said I am doing the weekly chest on 2 alts currently, with the dragonriding quests and some easy gold WQs that come my way and I am breaking more than even with a profit. That is however thanks to how my guild set up themselves, having a variety of crafters who can craft anything as long as you have the materials for it. I aldo try and catch a few public orders whenever they pop up.

It is pretty rough outside of that, but if you go out of your way to be somewhat self sufficient you can still make do without buying tokens. Some old world materials still have a decent price to generate income with as well. All of these require some time investment however. If you are short on time then you may have to resort to token purchases, or you can work on reducing your expenses.

I still earn about 1 token a week through Crafting. Probably more if I put more effort into it.

I suspect that Region Wide AH was implemented to try and put an end to “easy gold grinds”.

But we’re off season at the moment, so earning will be harder as there is alot less demand.

The best thing to do is capitalise during the Peak season (when the raid is fresh), and then stock up on Tokens and game time to see you through for the next patch/expansion.

There’s nothing wrong with excess gold. In fact I think most of it from WoD is gone now.

But yeah, the most important part by far, as you say, is buying gold.

go to booty bay and check

100 gold is nothing. you get that easily by a single world quest since dragonriding ones give 500 g minimum. And then you still got stuff like gathering proffesions tho prices did drop for the mats

Mats are worthless now. PvP world quests are profitable but don’t reward gold everyday sadly. No mission table.
Boosting in PvE seems like the only viable option to “get rich quick”.
Playing the AH can make millions but takes a very long time compared to Shadowlands.
