Are Blizzard pushing tokens too much?

One of the aspects I really enjoyed with wow was earning gold, but after the over saturation of mats on ah its not possible to earn good gold with that anymore.

We have less gold earnonv quests, yet the wow tokens keeps getting more and more expensive.

I have to grind alot to make decent gold and I am mythic playing at a loss.

I really feel Blizzard would want you to buy a wow token, and nerfs the gold earning because of that.

I would expect that from a p2w b2p game like bdo, but in wow where you can buy tokens it’s like double sub.

How they work

The less people who buy them the gold goes up

determines WoW Token Price?

While the real money price of Token is fixed, the in-game gold price (how much are Tokens selling for) changes dynamically according to supply and demand. You can not choose how much do you want to sell it for - it is automatically determined by Blizzard’s internal algorithm.

Fewer people buy it for real money / more people want to give their gold for it = less supply/more demand = Token’s gold price rises.

More people buy it for real money / fewer people want to give their gold for it = more supply/less demand = Token’s gold price falls

Only a few people are buying them atm hence the gold you get slowly going up again.

They have actually recently boosted the gold rewards per world quest/daily in DF also in the cache’s too.

Mats are getting cheaper, and so is everything else you’d want to buy. So what exactly do you feel you can’t afford?

No where near what it was in WoD. BFA and SL. They have nerfed the gold rewards to boost token sales and boost profits.

What part of my post do you not understand? the tokens are not being bought atm hence the gold going up.

They have actually buffed the quest rewards , we are suffering due to lack of mission table and emissary which apparently (i know i didnt) players asked to be removed so they didnt feel forced to do them.

I will repeat how the tokens work so people can actually read it

Simply not true if you’re a gold maker like I am. Older mats sell really well and for alot more gold. Doing 10 runs of sunken temple in 20 mins can make you 15k gold in leather.

Running the first part of the bug raid in mop lfr can make you around 9k in spirits of harmony in 15 mins.

LIke the reason older mats go for so much is because no one except 100 individuals do it.

Just go on ah type ore , skin , herb and just look what’s selling for the most and go farm

The old ZG recipes are coming back soon , essence of war has gone up 600% in value.

I mean as uncle roger would say " HAIYAA" stop being so lazy

Yep but alot of gold gets into the game due to people farming alot of stuff like 4x2 farm groups getting also alot of gold from trash mobs. or bots farming somewhere.

And tbh world quests also give quite some gold. some tuskarr one gave me 650g yesterday and the dragon racing ones always give gold from the bag. So if you do the world quests giving gold with several alts it should actually give some decent raw gold.

But sadly this only works for people with an army of alts

Earning gold is still is easy but the gold that has to be spent for powerups has also increased.

Enchants, gems, crafted items. Game takes away your earned gold in exchange of extra stats. Perhaps one of the reasons behind ban of multiboxing was this. Making people buy more WowToken because of increased prices.

Gold is not scarce but prices are high.

They banned multiboxing?

yes, as a result auction house is more expensive

Yes! New recipes at the trainers 100g is a joke. What about new players with no gold. . Also draconic vials are over priced as well . So yes they are indeed at people with no gold and that’s mainly new players.

Running a dungeon with CTA bonus gets you about 6k worth of runes, and God forbid players should have to take part in the economy and professions in order to make gold. Everyone should just be handed enough to buy whatever they need.

After all, WoW is a single player game.

Nope.

I earn my gold through boosting m+ and offer services on my own too like “rent a tank” where people can pay me sweet golds per hour or per task to help them with anything as a tank. But generally i can make 1-2 mil per week with boosting alone.

Token only changed the ways how people can farm gold. Also professions are a incredibly good way to make gold now.

Personally haven’t paid for gametime since launch and still keep a huge profit ingame too.

Making gold is not that hard. Even just playing the weekly stuff should get you about 15k per week. Prices have dropped hard now and no one needs 1 mil gold in this game to be able to play it.

Can we get token in classic yet ? why just in taiwan and not fors us too ? take my money give me some gold already !

Probably.

If you have RL money your experience of WoW can be very different- like you’re a VIP.

For a measly ÂŁ34 you can get around 600k. Then buy your Razageth ahead of curve win currently 80k. Buy whatever legal boosts u want, buy the best stuff available on AH and buy the best enchants and gems.

Want to level an alt? 150k 60-70 job done.

Very different game experience if you can’t afford tokens!

question then is obviously:
You pay a sub to play the game, you pay for tokens so others play the game for you.
Why you play the game at all?

A 9.9m BMAH bid on a Swift Zuli Tiger

They banned third party multiboxing, meaning that you have to physically click on all of your accounts to get your characters to do some action, you can’t mirror your key clicks with some programs anymore. Which is kind of amusing since most zones are full of these half automated multibox hyperspawn farmers where majority of characters are automated to just spam aoe in some location while one or two real players just pull stuff up to them.
