I’d like to use them for a transmog, but I’m wondering if they’re completely useless. They might deal less damage, but they should have higher speed, so that makes me wonder if they are useful after all.
Probably not the meta but it doesn’t matter unless you are doing really top end content. Play what you want! I prefer one-handed weapons, they don’t look as ridiculous, don’t clip as much and you do indeed hit a bit faster if you get the talent.

Usually they’re always worse than titan’s grip, because you’re really supposed to play with 2 2handers (I honestly never understood why give the chance if it’s never worth it).
I do respect you if you feel like playing it though. I have the same problem with my fury warrior, though I managed to find a 2h sword that looks like a 1h, should you want to give it a try:
when i got vault 1h on my warrior i had to go 2x1h and then use the one handed talents,
tbh they should buff those to make it on par with 2h fury builds…a bit more crit a bit more haste and accuracy and its even lore acurate…

really do you use one hand with your ret pally?
i was thinkin to switch beacuse i get bored to appear with a big tree in hand but i dont know if is a good idea (and i dont do any endgame content)

Sadly, 1-handers will always lag behind 2-handers, because 2-handers have a much bigger stat budget, until Blizz adds a talent that rectifies that (“You get 1.5x the stats from your weapons when wielding two 1-handed weapons” or something), anything they try to balance between 1- and 2-handers is a band-aid fix.
I’m a big fan of the idea to let fury warriors transmog 2-handers to 1-handers, which is the easiest fix, let us use 2-handers without looking ridiculous, only male orcs and Tauren can look decent dual-wielding 2-handers (Except for a few quest greens, but who wants to be restricted to a handful of weapon options for transmog?)
