Are paladins good in wotlk for a casual?

Hey!

I never got to max level in classic or tbc, leveld a hunter that is currently around 60 something. But now in wotlk I want to level a paladin, I kinda wanted to level it in classic too but since paladins specifically retribution weren’t really good, I went with hunter.

Now in wotlk I’ve heard that mana managing isn’t really a problem anymore for dps so I thought that I would maybe give paladin a shot.

My main focus is to level, just doing quests and exploring the classic world. I will play on a pvp server I think so I would hope that paladins aren’t bad at open world pvp. They don’t need to be the best, just not bad at it.

I will prob do some dungeons and maybe raid once or twice but my focus will be on leveling and doing stuff in the world.

Does paladin work for that? I don’t want to level a paladin for a while since it’s slower leveling in classic, and then regret my decision of playing one.

Paladins are god tier in Wotlk, so good even for casual.
They’re pretty broken leveling since they get lot of dmg from talents.

The moment you get seal of command you can cleave groups from level 20 onward.

What I’ll say… At max level they are great. Great tank, pretty good DPS and great healer.

But, it’s a bit boring at the start. It’s 1000% better than BC paladin, no question. But 1-20 is super boring. Just seal + melee and then judgement and melee for a long time.

At around 40 it gets pretty good, when you start picking up talents like judgements of the wise and art of war. Then you can go back to using blessing of might and going kamikaze with consecrate, seal of command and exorcism/FoL on AoW procs (which are all the time) ending each fight will a full mana and health pool.

Things get even better as you get crusader strike and divine storm. Once you have those it becomes amazing fun.

So, I’d say that it’s worth the boring beginnings. The downside is, everyone is playing one :stuck_out_tongue:
