I love collecting mounts (, pets, toys, transmog etc), but its often hard to get some rare mobs even in the old world because of sharding. I know that RP realms dont have as much sharding as normal realms. Should it be easier to find some rare spawn mobs on RP realms. And should I also pick low population RP realm or do they get sharded with high population RP realm so its basicly the same?
RP realms get sharded with other RP realms as far as i know and can research. But in theory you should have it easier on those realm to farm mount X. Given you arent competing against boost groups that use RP realms due to their unique nature in terms of selling mounts of course so you have to consider those groups still.
That is true only for the current content zones (Shadowlands). For the old zones sharding is turned off and you’ll only see people from your RP realm/connected realms (if any).
I love my dead German RP realm. It’s calm, nobody is ganking you, silly guild advertisements in trade have class and you can observe and admire all the incredible rare wildlife in its natural surrounding.
It kind of is easier to farm Rares, but since it’s known by many, there is a really big amount of players that comes on RP servers for that exact same reason. The RP-PVE sharding is almost impossible to farm Rare mounts due to that, as there’s characters on every spawn point. RP-PVP sharding is more manageable. There is far fewer peoples in that one.
