I’m not sure they are smaller. They look smaller on the map, but to traverse? I’d say it’s pretty large. Much larger than the map would have us believe at least.

It’s possible to measure zones using the in game map markers. Haven’t done it myself by i can very confidently say that the Azure Span is by far the largest zone in the game. Perhaps twice as big as the biggest zone from any previous expansion.

Edit: might actually give it a shot. Brb in 3 hours i guess.

There are roads, basically you could walk from the waking shores landing point to the far edge of azure span and it would take less time than to cross Kalimdor

Can you show that to be the case? I’d like to see it.

You can measure yourself. By footsteps.

Doubt it. If I had to guess, I’d say the distance from Moonglade to Uldum is probably farther than between any two points on the Dragon Isles.

So i took the time to measure the X-Y coordinates of Kalimdor and the Dragon Isles using the ingame map marker (which shows you how far you are from in it yards). And here are the results.

The Dragon Isles are about 2/3 the size of Kalimdor in area. By the end of the expansion the gap will be (probably) much smaller when you include any new areas Blizzard might add in updates.

Note that this does not include Teldrassil or the Draenei islands, nor the extra island off the coast of the main body of the Dragon Isles (like the Dracthyr starting zone).

There are bound to be some errors on my part, but i doubt the measurement are off by more than 5%.

why isn’t that countend tho. it’s an actual part of the isles we will go in 10.7 ._.

Dragon isles are bigger I think. Look how quickly you move across kalimdor with dragonflying in beta, and how long it takes to cross dragon isles
