I’m thinking of shifting to the Alliance for Shadowlands. I’ve been horde ever since Wrath and I could use a change of scenery.
But I don’t want to do what I did during WoD and playing an alliance character on a server that’s 90% horde and I could barely leave my garrison on that alt to do anything!
Any good servers where I could find a home with the alliance? But not being the only faction that’s active!

Apparently Silvermoon is your best option for Alliance. Not sure what the ally/horde ratio is however.
If you have time I would wait and see what the upcoming server merges will do

From what I see, Silvermoon is the alliance version of Draenor. Just an Alliance server pretty much! xD
I’m also thinking to go to a server with less population than Draenor. Expansion launch in here is always a fun laggy crashed time!
Maybe Magtheridon? I know a few alliance playing there but don’t think it’s as crowded as Silvermoon

I just read that The Maelstrom has decent pop and 50/50 population.There used to be a website with pie charts called realmpop but that seems to have dissapeared sadly

This will give a kind of outline of server populations on various realms, wowprogress is used from a raiding perspective so only use it as an indicator.
I’m not sure why you’d want to be on a balanced realm. PvP realms no longer exist and we all go into the world in WM on or off. We are sharded accordingly with other players based on that choice. RP realms have their own rulesets and don’t get sharded in with Normal realms. People can be invited across to RP realms though.
A realm with a bias towards your own faction is better because you have a bigger pool of players for guilds and recruitment to guilds. It usually makes for a strong economy too.

Magtheridon is the most balanced english realm in EU that’s not a connected realm.
you can go to this website and check out the realm population. It’s from august 2019, but numbers should be generally the same now.

Why you would actively choose to jump from horde to alliance in 2020 i have no idea, but server balance isn’t really relevant anymore with all the sharding and warmode.
Ravencrest/Silvermoon are your best options for guilds though, whatever is left come shadowlands release
You don’t really need a “balanced” server, you need an Alliance one. You’ll get enough horde in warmode and battlegrounds thanks to sharding and cross-server play, so you’ll be good.

if you like to peacefully quest without anyone bother you, you like to play fair and hate being ganged by 2 full sized parties taking turns to kill you, till you slowly get corrupted from your core that you realize that being a degenerate player is the only way to survive. if you dont like any of these things stay horde!

I was in the same boat as you in regards to looking for a good alliance server to level a new alt. Since I’ve been on Tarren Mill I wanted to play on a smaller server for a change. I went to stormwind on probably 20 different servers seeing which one were connected on gamepidia so I didn’t accidentally go to two servers that are connected. I decided on Kilrogg because the server gave me nostalgia with the simple reason that people actually had conversations in tradechat. I can’t remember the last time that people spoke with each other in tradechat on Tarren Mill.And a few days ago, Blizz announced they would connect the server with Arathor/Hellfire so it will probably become a high pop server which I don’t really mind but I just hope the server keeps it friendly vibe.

I love the lore of the Alliance as I do the Horde’s. But the Alliance has cool stories and gear/mounts that I always look at jealous. So now I thought to go and serve the Wrynns once more.
Plus I can now be a Belf on Alliance so I’m good with the change.
Why do you think rolling Alliance is so bad?
Because there’s like 1/10th as many players to play with?
Alliance is great if you’re a casual player, that has interest only in RP. That’s it.
Besides, there are no balanced realm and imo, that does not matter.
So maybe it’s time for people to start working on making things more even?
More players shouldn’t be a bad thing!

Some suggestions you got are good, personally I’d say magtheridon, chamber, maelstrom, defias are some of the most balanced servers eu, and they’re all english, all pretty close to 50-50.
