Are we Alliance THIS sad?

Ganking isnt the problem (blue in the face right now) the problem is one side ganking for reward and the other gets zero…other than 10% that was already available to the side now gifted with shiny pretties as well as a bonus to their 10%

This would be abused regardless of which side has the quest or the buff.

Alliance complained about Warmode and the constant party/raid ganking they received and blizzard reacted with these changes, now the shoe is on the other foot and you see the alliance doing the exact same to the horde (who now complain about it) because there is a nice quest attached to it that grants a decent ilvl item.

Warmode was just an excuse to try and repair the lack of pvp that was happening, the old system of pvp and pve servers gave people the option of playing the way they wanted, we have battlegrounds and arenas for those who wanted to dive into pvp who played pve servers back in the days.

If only people were able to enjoy world pvp without needing a carrot :man_shrugging:

Had the Horde camp the submarine point in Faction Invasion the other day. I died 6 or 7 times in the process of getting into and then out of the sub. Part of the fun, imho.

WPVP is optional. If you don’t like it, don’t do it - you can still do the other PvP content. If you want to complete the Faction Invasions you just have to accept you may die several times. And it’s easy enough to get 25 kills without joining a dedicated group through group finder - wait for the air drop then join in the scrum. Took me 30 minutes last night.

But I DO think 400 item in week 1 is too much. 385 would be fine to incentivise Alliance players, then have it switch to 400 in week 5 or 6 once Horde players have geared up.

Yea sure, Part of the fun indeed.

30% extra for the alliance because most of your players are too chicken to turn it on? No big deal. Maybe that’ll give you an incentive to actually turn the warmode on.

And now a free 400 ilvl gear which currently is the highest lvl item in the game as another reward? That’s ridiculous and stupid.

I did something I wasn’t suppose to do. I joined in on it, and ended up doing WQ’s with it on because I forgot to turn it off again, after I had taken down the 25 I needed. I’ll probably keep it on until I get served the first time. My guildies told me I was a chicken for camping the instance portal of Waycrest Manor last night. I just linked my Moonkin form in return!

Not equipped my ilvl 400 Azerite helm yet though.

I don’t see why Horde can’t get the same quest no. I would think the 30% buff was enough, but what do I know.

I wasn’t suppose to take part of it, but I got encouraged when seeing how well it went for my other half last night, so I joined in and ended up sticking the warmode for the rest of the evening(forgot to turn it off after handing in the quest, but when I realized I decided to give it a try again anyways). What happened last night was that I got to do everything unharmed by Horde. There wasn’t really anyone around, but there were so many Alliance that the few I met when doing the Assault quests were already occupied with groups of Alliance players.

I am curious if this will continue through the week, and the buff/quest turning over to Horde next week, but I somehow doubt it… Even though last night Allliance seemed to actually overrun Horde like Horde did with Alliance the last time(s) I had warmode enabled.

But back to the point, I do think this quest should be avaiilable to both sides. I don’t see why not… It encourages people to group up to locate the oposite faction. Would be more fair(and fun?), if you had 5 man groups grouping up on both sides for it, rather than 5 man Alliance groups going up against 1-3 random Horde.

I don’t think they are actual raid groups. When I farmed the 25 kills last night, we were 2(maybe 3?) different groups at most that just sat in the same spot, so we got credit.

If we are sad what that makes you then crying over sad people?

Said this before, personally I like the warmode buff, but dislike the fact that Blizzard is giving players heroic gear loot so easily. It doesn’t fix anything. Gear is the main thing we play and progress for, but if you give it out on a golden plate, you’re removing the need to play the game at all.

clearly its working as intended since were are on day 3 no blue response whatsoever and blizzard making ton of money on people transfering their char en masse to p2w fraction .

wow is going straight in p2w direction

The 400 item does nothing to help wpvp.
Hordemode times were just as bad in this regard, I didn’t want to flock to 1 lonely dude with 5 others, I want to fight other people on at least somewhat equal, albeit unpredictable terms.

Right now it’s just a mass of red camping any given site, and then either running back to the flock if caught alone or HSing away when the quest quota has been met.

Kinda kills my desire to fight when my sole role is to quest progression and nobody has interest in ACTUAL fighting, just quick progress.

This solution just isn’t fun and can be trivially abused.
Turn WM on.
Gank some randoms doing WQs or landing on a FP for 10-20 minutes to get your “kill” quota and get your free ilvl 400.
Turn VM off till next week.

The only solution to somehow solve this lunacy as a horde is to shard hop by joining completely random groups until you get a shard without several ally raids camping your objective.

Yikes, nah, the alliance were ganking all night yesterday had to make a 40 player group to Run them down, then we rushed through Boralus gate To the Alliance boat.

40 Horde against the whole city of Boralus and easely more than 50 Alliance.

Dang that felt good.

This is as far removed from that as is possible.

if this was NOT the case, the system would never have been put in to the game but here it is so you are 100% right.

I’m not sad, I’m happy, to be honest, this doesn’t rate that high on my sad meter these days, play the game, don’t play the game, pffft

It really beggars belief. So many awful decisions in such a short space of time. You know they’ve screwed up when even MVPs don’t sing their praises (no offence meant Punyelf).

The only thing left i’m holding onto is classic, hopefully they can’t tarnish that as it’s literally just copying old work.

This is literally how world pvp works in warmode most of the time. I remember a few weeks after the launch hordies were bored cuz there was nothing to do and hunted down random solo players in groups leading to the alliance just turning it off permanently.

Its terrible unabalanced, hell and if you want 1v1 good luck doing that as a caster against most melee players.

warmode pvp is not balanced in any way, its not fun, you just do it for the rewards and leave.

Hey, we are not that sad. It’s just crappily built “encouragement” system in play here. This coming from someone who still has not turned WM on and not going to. I, how ever, been following WM discussions with interest becase the whole system how they try to get players to WM has been like textbook example of bad style “encouragement”. Instead of making WM interesting and engaging in game design point of view (content wise, making it fun on it’s own etc.) they keep trying to get players to participate by “bribes” and “blackmail”.

By “bribes” i mean xp bonus and extra rewards for killing opposing faction and by “blackmail” i mean for example taking away many class skill and putting them available only in WM. Also i don’t know if many paid attention bt also xp was part of “blackmail” originally, them reducing it in heavily on 7.3.5 and putting the “bonus” to WM. This xp thing has been fixed now ofc.

Result of this seems to be lot of unhappy players who feel treaten unfairly. Lot of posts about one side not having fun because of being camped, not much about fun pvp experiences. It also creates friction between players instead of player CHARACTERS, making community more negative and sour. You don’t respect your opponent and it makes pvp emotianally less rewarding (killing someone you respect as good player and strong opponent gives different kind of satisfaction than just slaying random people and hating the fact you are doing it but you gotta cause you need item x).

I don’t know if Blizzard is going to stop doing the silly and start putting actual goals, fun aspects and engaging content to actually make people want to participate on world pvp (versus wanting the item from it). I am worried they just stubbornly keep their ways - probably next thing is they add WM kills on pathfinder or something . And then wonder why people are so mad again.
