Whole WM system is broken piece of garbage and blizzards attempts to balance things is not effective or well thought out. I can see this becoming a cycle where smaller faction turns WM off as long as they get their WM buffed.
My horde toons have their WM turned off because i got tired of being steamrolled by alliance raid while leveling solo. Then again all my alliance toons have it on because that FREE 30% experience is nice for leveling and you never have to worry about horde because of reason stated above.
Broken system conjured by incompetent devs who obviously dont even play the game.
I think quite many things actually are, more lately than before. Was just trying to explain why in WM it is not the best way to get lot of participants who actually stay after getting their initial reward and who think “ahh this was fun, this is what i like to do on friday evenings from now on”.
Its mostly bad design
The same was true for the ‘kill 10 players’ for horde before the 30% change, because there were hardly any Alliance around people had to farm neutral FPs or risk not completing it that week depending on how often they could play
Its the Quest itself that becomes a problem in the current state of warmode
Edit; you can blame the faction but its Blizzards choice to design Warmode the way it is and you cant exactly blame players for doing what warmode allows you to do
Different subject. And yes, I can be defending the current situation, at least partially.
Fair enough, where is it good to have participants who are bribed by the reward system to do that content? Let’s apply this logic to everything, not just warmode.
According to you. Yet, if the goal was to spark some pvp in world pvp, the metric ton of complaint threads hints that there is more of it than there was before the system was introduced. So much for that theory…
I think the WM participation reward is worse because it actively hinders the enjoyment of WM to those who use it just for the sake of enjoying the game, whereas stuff like Warfront is purely just a stupid random loot dispenser, but participating in it doesn’t really affect others trying to play it in any way.
The way current reward systems work is a##, no way around that, but this one reward is actively making it feel significantly worse to those who want to actually play with WM for the pvp aspect of it.
I partially agree, and partially do not. Having for example Island expeditions and dailies be more lucrative than anything else in terms of AP gains makes everyone have to do at least a number of them, no matter if they like them or not, if they want to stay relevant in the game. The effect may not be as direct, but it still exists, and as a matter of principle it’s the same.
I can’t say I’ve looked at what the reply ratio is. I know people feel there is more engagement from the blues over there but I still don’t think they actually want to address this.
We have a new question and Avoidance session coming up but I very much doubt they’ll want to admit their fix isn’t working.
