No one is under the delusion they are completing the quest in raids. But there are lots of five man parties who can all occupy the same area. They may be separately grouped but the effect is the same.
This was such a stupid comment in my opinion.
“It works, more alliance players turn on warmode. But we do want some horde players to turn of warmode to achieve balance.” (not literally, but a quote in meaning)
He completely neglected the fact, that this quest only brings temporal participation on the alliance side.
If this ganking is what the development team aims for, I will consider parting with WoW. If they screw up PvP so hard and think they improved, I wonder how they will mess up current PvE (they have already taken some bad turn in BfA, but up till now I enjoyed PvE, but if this downwards trend continues and they consider this as improvement I have to reconsider and part with WoW).
But at least he acknowledged, that 400 is to high this early into the season (he was correct - in my opinion - that 370 as heroic equivalent was a good level when firstly introduced, but the current heroic equivalent is to high).
Well you don’t have to sign up to group if you don`t want the easy route, I did the kill 25 Horde without grouping, just went to an incursion and picked off Horde in the area they were in, yes there were other Alliance in the area and yes I used that to my advantage, but the Alliance/Horde Ratio in the area was about the same when I was doing it, just the Horde seemed unable to work together and the Alliance were working much better together. And I really am not a pvp player, I have never even done a battleground, I killed the 25 Horde in around 30mins of play and I think got killed twice doing it.
World pvp has never been fair or balanced, try phasing in from a dungeon group to 2 or 3 horde on top of you.
its messy and unfair.
Raid vs raid? Na
Was it maybe because they were in groups of 5?
Both factions do it, don’t feel bad. I get ganked on my healer even when I play solo by 3+ horde usually till I HS or take spirit healer to go to the inn to turn it off (Since horde have a habit to farm the assassin buff, even off the same player.)
its not that we’re bad its just blizzard miss sold warmode and should be called hordemode due to how the shards are so disgustingly bias on the most part since if the horde is ever in the shard, you’ll see them coming in the mass of red name plates and being in a raid sized party.
this should of been addressed really like the bounty quest was, being forced to do it in a party or solo, not a raid so thats blizzards fault mostly.
Anyway the morale of the story is both sides do it, horde has always been doing it since the word go especially at the start of BFA, before the carrot on a stick was taunted and tempting alliance players to come back and feed the horde more kills in WM. (The quest and the WM bonus is meant to make up for well the horde basically getting all WQ’s up untill as of recently uncontested. Although the assaults are basically unplayable in WM in Zandalar due to referring to picture.) https://imgur.com/a/coLH9Fv
during this day (referring to image) there was this group following a bounty and despite being done (I assume) just farming ally for the assassin buff, there was a group camping shandris too and apparently there was more than enough horde in the shard to camp a GY too according to general chat.
Nah, nobody really cares about the buff. It’s just fun to keep fighting raid vs raid.
Autor of this topic must give real work to make alliance character so this was not another horde cry topic haha.
I’m just quite astounded by some of these decisions.
So Alliance players both willingly and unwillingly chose to play with WM off for the longest time due to what was essentially PvP preferences, and sharding imbalances, and not overall faction imbalance.
So how do you encourage players to turn WM on? - by rewarding them what is what is essentially “free” raid gear with added bonuses on top.
What we have now are raid groups actively camping fly points, and which will continue until pretty much every Ally gets their 400 ilvl gear reward. After which they will switch WM back off.
This in turn will have Horde players switching WM on bringing us back to square one, which is what the devs originally intended, yet after creating a massive ganking fiasco and reward imbalances instead of driving people to actually like and encourage wPvP through meaningful content such as wPvP instances, quests, etc.
GG Blizz
“Raid vs raid” you mean farm random questers, sure given alliance never form a raid to gank the goon squad of a 40 man raid, or by the time it happens horde naturally have an edge with a dozen players getting flat 15% damage and healing.
No I mean raid vs raid. I’ve seen it happen a few times this expansion. Not as often as it should though.
World PvP has always been like this (camping, farming, etc.), since Vanilla.
I have no idea why people think it would be any different.
And what is your suggestion for Blizzard to make people behave differently in world pvp?
if world pvp was more dynamic than it was static, this wouldn’t be a problem however its basically default and a static way to play the game the attitude of strength in numbers. Escalate this by 40 since you can do a good portion of WQ’s if im not mistaken as a raid. The blue ones i think? which justifies staying as a raid sized party for most of the session.
Also it doesn’t make sense when your an assassin that you get flat damage for achieving kills and no draw backs when your the bounty bar a marker?
Sure ganking happened in Vanilla, yes. But uhm world quests didnt exist in VANILLA so there was less incentive to goon squad people in raid sized teams during those periods of play time jsyk
The whole reason that warmode was brought in was that there was a queue of people waiting to transfer off PvP servers, and they were only the tip of the iceberg. The bigger portion were the ones leaving wow because of the cost of transferring all their toons off PvP servers.
A lot of people joined PvP servers not realising the (bad word)fest it entailed.
I know I personally years ago paid $75 US to get three of my toons off a US PvP server that went 90% horde and totally unplayable as Alliance if you were trying to do rep dailys etc.
Leave those trash groups, and move on.
Honestly i said the same to my guild yesterday… why does every single 5man have to be grouped on a horde flight path, i remember that one amazing brawl we had in arom stand, both equal imo, still it was actually fun.
But to just group turn wm on and camp flight points is beyond stupid. im not saying the horde doesn’t do it either, what im trying to say is it’s REALLY not a good look.
There needs to be something implemented with those kills, similar to honor-less target debuffs.
Its really embarrassing …
I know warmode has it’s reason but it’s an unperfect solution compared to a proper 50/50 balanced pvp only server.
People move in and out of it too fast to balance out properly and sharding on this does not help.
I don`t know if any were grouped but I would say probably not, tended to be about 2 or 3 of us would just target one of the Horde, but there was enough horde in the same area that they could have done the same back to us, but instead they decided to just jump around solo and get picked off. I think once a group of 8 horde did form and there was a decent battle, but they lost that too and then went back to just going around solo.
o, WM on assault actually makes no sense at all. Because once you’re in a raid group, you can’t do any of the quests. Yes. you can kill anyone with that huge crowd of people, but what’s the point?
But they are not in raid groups, or they already finished their quests before that. I did the 25 kills yesterday during an assault as well. On my prot war alt with alot of blue gear i literally just followed a group of allies running around chasing horde. I’m sure i’m not the only one. On my hunter there suddenly were alot less allies in the shard so i joined a 5 man group, but on that shard we saw other 5 man groups and some randoms run around as well.
It might look like a raid group, but alot of times they are just solo players and maybe one or 2 parties that happen to be at the same place. Sticking together to speed things up
What is really surprising to me, is that before the shiny new gear alliance stated, they we’re outnumbered by the horde and all that. And that’s why they turned off WM. But now with the new shiny 400, suddenly they’re not…it must be me.
