Are we Alliance THIS sad?

you should both be ashamed

Guess what - world PvP has always been like this, even in vanilla days when a lot more people engaged in it players attacked in numbers others which were because of that in disadvantageous position, and its not only the alliance which is doing that, the horde does it to.

And whoever played back than also remembers all the stunlocks rogues had back than which made them OP for ganking.

What other carrot do you want that both makes alliance as a faction a little more attractive to players, and deal with the shard problematic?

I think they gave alliance a good incentive for WM on, and maybe guilds that are alliance might resist rerolling horde for better recruitement pool.

From their metrics point of view it is working. While I used to PvP a lot years ago, I only switched on warmode when this quest came out and lots of others I know as well.

It doesn’t make it fair, but I’d say as far as the developers are concerned this is working.

Well. The reward is fun and etc. And ganking is also part of PvP(like it or not).

But even as an alliance player I agree that horde should also get some kind of reward. Heck…if not the same ilevel 400. Then a buttload of azerite in a quest “resist the onslaught” or something. Sure ilevel 400 stuff > motherload of azerite but it better than “nada” for the horde?

If you want to believe people purely go out in droves on a Wednedsay and do that quest then turn WM off because pvp is fun then that is your choice.

It’s not very realistic though. If the fun of PvP was all that was required it wouldn’t even need any kind of rewarding system.

Hey. I am not blind. Maybe I am in the minority and always keep wm on this char(yeah…yeah. I know the easy pick-rogue, go figure) but seeing allies rampaging trough horde capital city is…hilarious to say the least. Even if their main motivation is not to pvp but purely out of greed. Would be fun to see horde bulldozing trough boralus for lols but they don’t have reason for it…sadly.

I’ve never seen the Alliance take on the pyramid. Only ever the port. I have seen the raids on reddit so they do happen. However most go for the easy option that hasn’t got a lot of players hanging about.

It’s not about declaring any great war or wanting a good challenge. It’s purely we are another world quest and the Horde are the targets.

Edit to add - As you can tell I’m super fed up with the Alliance farm Horde every Wednesday, act all big about it as if they are great PvPers when all they do is go out do a quest (in groups) and then scurry back to non WM while jeering and generally being douchebags about the whole thing.

While I agree on the “farm the port for 10v1 easy targets”. The group I was in+2-3 other independent groups. We simply started north and worked trough the entire city to the port then back to the north. So maybe I was just “lucky” and got into a group who took the “hard way”.

As for the quest. Well…what other solutions we have. Unless alliance get an huge treasure chest on a stick(even a carrot won’t do) they won’t turn wm on. And we are back to square 8.0.1 with horde mode and any alliance turning wm on is being considered suicide.

The perfect solution doesn’t exist, it died with the death of pvp servers. Still there are plenty of potentially working options to bring some sort of balance:

On top of my head:

  • move the reward to the end of a daily chain quest
  • add to the quest requirement to kill some sort of npc/boss inside each other capital to avoid people camping minor spots
  • shard separately WM people in groups from lone fighters.

Could work. I agree

Well…depends on the npc. People can quickly farm the flight path and go around the city or any safest route they can find and kill the npc.

Would be awesome BUT…wont the shard-jumping c*ap mess this up?

aparently working as inteneded

since what Ion wants is for horde to turn off WM

because without horde turning it off allience will never participare

amazing game design

You mean fodder? :smirk:

That’s how people play these days. Wanting all the rewards for as little amount of effort as possible while gloating about it.
Doesn’t matter which faction they play.

na you clowns do it the best. atacking the docks during non peak hours but god help you if you atack during the peak hours because you know the horde will eat you alive then.

Well this is how it was for Alliance players before the change if we had WM on, getting Ganged by groups of hordies no matter if you were leveling to 120 or already 120.

It’s amusing seeing the Horde babies cry this time when they were always saying “Stop crying and git gud” to Alliance players who spoke out how awful it was getting killed nonstop by groups of Horde players.

Thats not why they are unhappy i would say. Give the horde the same quest, you can keep the buff.

Being part of a faction that needs to be baited by insane ilvl gear just to turn on wm and pvp…that’s just sad.:joy:

Despite getting no gear and no other incentive you still get groups of horde forming, countering alliance welfare raids. Thats true pvp spirit.

Ion addressed this in the Q&A.
According to their statistics, things should soon be more balanced.

There are only a select few on here who said “git gud” to Alliance players - and to be honest they’re players who you probably wouldnt want to know in the real world never mind in a game

Horde arent really “crying” about the ganking it’s about the reward the Alliance get for doing it. But the main issue is the fact that quite a few (not saying all because I dont know for certain) turn warmode off as soon as they’ve got their shiny pretties - I think that if you engage in a wPvP quest that gives you a reward then you should have to stay in warmode for the rest of the week

It’s not raidgroups, it’s just a BUNCH of 5-man groups being made. If you are alliance and you look for a 25-horde kill group you will see like 100 5-man groups popping up.
