Are we taking "political correctness" too far?

readin this i know that if i ever have kids (who am i kiddin right but just humor me), i 100% will place them in a private normal human school

Pick any one of the above.

some private schools are crazy, some others have a normal education system… and by normal i mean not the degeneracy some public systems are (depends country though)

if u need further explanation just wave, always here to help the slower ones

The school I work for is private, and it covers universal abilities. To be fair, all schools in the UK should offer equal universal opportunities, however being truthful that’s not how it shakes down.

One of the hardest aspects of my profession in direct conflict with my own abilities, and those of my son.

Realistically, and quite seriously, I would look at the schools carefully when you do have children, have many many transitional visits, make sure your child is comfortable where they attend, and make sure you are happy with the educators and staff there.

Look for a school that pride’s it’s self on transparency and look for passionate and enthusiastic educators, especially when your child is young

It’s ok, I think your time would be better spent on your own education rather than mine.

i’ll never had kids but thanks for the advice

what do you mean by universal abilities? never heared that term

why you say that, its ok to get better man

It’s not the word White that is the issue, Guild called The White Rose exists on Silvermoon so that’s not the issue.

It’s possible to classify terms or statements, but ultimately, the classification would depend on the developer’s point of view on the matter.
And as you said, blizzard is filtering arbitrary words because they have a particular meaning in a specific language.
I recall the story of a japanese gamer who got banned, for example, for using the word “nigeru”, which means “flee” in japanese, but sounds like the N-word in english.

Probably, I can’t tell anything about grated cheese in french, because “grated” would sound like another word which means something bad in english (about people forcing others to engage in stuff without their consent).

Also had a friend who got his nickname reported because it contained a substring which could be interpreted as a word referring to a plant that you can use to feel funny (illegally or not, depending on the state/country), whereas his nickname was in fact a reference to a character in a manhwa (korean manga, basically).

All that to say… Technically it’s possible. But in practice, it’s difficult, because a lot of the words that can compose a nickname can be interpreted as bad, even though they are not in the context originally thought by the creator of that nickname. But here is the problem with this : there’s not enough context to take a good decision.

It means there is no exclusion of those with special educational needs, or those less able than others due to either disability, high levels of medical support and so on.

Many mainstream schools in the UK have been known to make it harder for your child to attend if they fall into these categories, it shouldn’t happen, but it does. To the extent that often outside unbiased counsel and advocacy is needed.

Gah, get my professional head off now.
Just let your future kid lead you, trust your instincts. From my experience and subjective opinion kids are a heck of a lot smarter and knowledgeable that we give them credit for

yes and know

check out nltk basic bayesian sentiment analysis and clusters, its easy and has been around for years

dont get me started on transformers

its just bad automation

It could have been made before the word was banned; they do the same with character names.

yeah i thought u meant that but wasnt sure

i worked a bit in a disabled people center, its very different

i learned there that there are like you and i and have their pros and cons and stopped viewing them as another species

i think we need to educate them but also educate others, the stigma is too big

and stop tryin to push kids on me plz its gettin weird

I used some of that during my thesis. But I wasn’t really working on sentiment analysis, I was working on spectral clustering and coreference resolution, which at the time was really plagued with a pretty bad history of scoring systems.

I do apologise, no offense meant.
We are making a difference slowly but surely but it’s hard, tolerance is low, both in the education sector and socially, and difference tends to be something that is seen as deviant, and worthy of scorn or worse filming for your You tube or Tik tok.

A couple of years ago myself and my hubby took our son Jack to the supermarket, due to his OCD, Autism and adherence to routine, he escalated while trying to get him into a shopping trolly.

We drew a crowd, they laughed, and filmed us…sadly this reaction is now typical. We don’t take him out in very public venues anymore.

check the paper attention is all you need 2017, forgot the authors but its out there

its marvelous

check then bert from google

basically it builds vectors for word usin bidirectionnal contexts, so you have for one word a vector containing the word itself but all the other words aorund it. so it builds context

blizzard as a triple A puiblic company has no excuses whatsoever

i used bert in my work, its fantastic

if you want to apply it, use fast bert. its like the fast ai library. iirc you’ll need numpy, keras and transformers library first

dw im fine i got used to be trash

ur story is awful, im sorry. i hope jackson boy is fine.

in my country we like to say about handicaped people that “they are touched by the angels”, means they have the bliss of ignorance and innocence.

i remember when i left the place that was poor and terrible there, they wouldnt let me go. one girl was kissin my forarm over and over. i learned there they have this very big humanity that our rationalization prevents.

i hope public school system will start to build bridges like a day for some students to go in a handicap center, help for a day, and learn to have compassion

I heard about it, haven’t really took the time to check it yet, though.

Sounds like a rather typical bag of words. But there is probably more than just frequency in a window, I guess.

yup, much more, that was a very basic bottom line. but bag of words usually considern only one way, bert is bidirectionnal.

read the paper tbh, im quite druink, sorry my explanation si very bad
