After the recent changes seems like we pretty much lost everything. The inc fury consumption reduced the dps, eye beem dmg wasn’t reverted, even before we didn’t have the dmg to kill low HP targets, mastery is useless stats, our defence is crap and we don’t have any damage PVP talents. Before 8.1 DH still didn’t have enough burst dmg to kill anyone but then we were able to get the healer out of mana and finish it off this doesn’t work anymore
I’m happy Mana Rift is trash because I never liked playing it, but this means comps that depended on enemy team running out of mana aren’t really viable anymore (or have to change playstyle).
Right now I’m trying out Chaotic Transformation to be able to use Eye Beam > Blade Dance > Chaos Strike(s) > Meta > Blade Dance > Eye Beam > Chaos Strike(s) as a burst setup.
hard to call that a burst its mostly 100-120 k dmg over 10-12 sec, comparing to classes that can crit with signle spell for 50 and more. Current problem is healers are mainly healing with dot’s/ heals over time, which are natural counter for our sustain dmg
Just trying to make the best of what we’ve got. It is not OP, but it can pack quite the punch.
While testing now, I seem to be doing 200-250k in this 10s window, without using a single Chaos Strike and no Immolation Aura.
I am also running 2x Battlefield Precision, which on proc gives me about 2k extra damage on every damage tick (it ticks pretty fast with Eye Beam + Trail of Ruin dot).
No, we’re not. We still have a solid amount of utility, CC, defensives and AoE damage.
My issue is with our noodle damage, we have high DPS but it comes in constant, healable waves. The only reason I can secure kills is because my Boomkin partner can burst for 40K.
Could i get some of that weed you’re smoking ? … a DH is currently the HIGHEST rated person in 3v3 …

Yeah, and on top of that, the top DH’s on the top of the PVP leaderboard have placed there from before the nerfs. Even before these nerfs, we were super underrepresented, and it will only get worse in tandem with many of the other classes who just received buffs in 8.1
DH’s also functions well in very few comps. Generally the class has very little variety in terms of PVP playstyle both in regards to talents and abilities, but also because of our very limited viability in PVP comps.
we have only 1 viable build for PVE and PVP which is pretty much the same with only 1 or 2 tallents difference, our deff is nothing compared to other classes like mage,rogue,paladin ( we have one 20% evasion aoe which can be cauntered- there are lots of skill that can force you out of the circle which goes to 70% for the sake of spending a PVP talent. Our second deff skill is 35% dmg reduction ). We have a 3rd one but you have to spent a talent for it and during the duration we are vulnerable to slow, stun, cylcone etc … Mastery is useless as a stats. We have 6 DHs in 3vs3 in top 200 and 5 in 2vs2 top 200 which get to that rate before the nerfs and other classes buffs. Our main dmging ability ( which consumes fury and we can cast like 6-8 of it when we have our other cd’s that fill our fury ) deals between 7-12k dmg depending on crits and the GCD is around 1.3sec = 80k dmg in 10sec. This is too low when it comes to PVP and compared to classes which have 100% crit on skills that can hit you for 50k and above in 2 sec cast time. This dmg is lackluster in the current meta were most healers heals with dot’s and heal over time which ticks for atleast 5k a second, we barely have any dmg done to the target after the heal ticks
the guys who got the highest ranking in the world played before nerfs none of them are playing now because its impossible especially with the mmr nerf go check trenacetates alt out who was 3.2cr and has tanked to 2.9cr losing almost every game dhs are trash now we can play melee cleave thats it

I’d actually like to see Mana Rift completely removed, even though it at all isn’t as good as before , if they could give us more burst and a better overall kit. Mana Rift is kind annoying since it’s only purpose is to make games go long and then win in dampening when the enemy healer is mana burned. No one likes such a meta, but Mana Rift is the only ability that makes us kind of viable in PvP right now, which is sad.
But I do feel, that we should have some ability that works in tandem with the enemy mana somehow, since it does fit with the hero class fantasy of a Demon Hunter. But this is just too op, and not fun.
