Another week has passed, and another beta build has dropped, and once again there is nothing regarding the numerous talent issues many members of the Ret Paladin player base have highlighted and expressed concern over.
There are still dead talents, namely ‘Fires of Justice’. Unimaginative and utterly underwhelming vs the other two choices on the row. There are countless suggestions from players for alternatives.
Trap talents are still at large, ‘Justicar’s Vengeance’, if you are going to leave it in its state, nobody is going to choose it, ever, so why have it there? Again, people have made ample suggestions, why is it just being left there for dead?
Inquisition, Seraphim, and Execution Sentence. These abilities each cost 3 holy power, Inq and Sera do basically the same thing, give haste and DPS. Each 3 HoPo, 2 do the same thing. I Don’t need to explain why I’m questioning why?
I’d also like to note concern regarding our PvP talents. We’ve heard nothing about them, really nice abilities like Hammer of Reckoning will be gone because we’re losing our Greater Blessings. Will these things be replaced? Or is it going to be a case of removing them and getting nothing back?
A little interactive feedback with your community goes a very long way.
Finally, we have ‘Healing Hands’, a talent that effects an ability that you cannot even use in all aspects of the game, (LoH in Arena). It is unimaginative, uninteresting, and looks like it has just been slapped into the slot and forgotten about.
When the class announcements for SL first dropped I went straight to Ret notes and I felt excited. Finally we were getting some abilities you took away from us to fit this thing called ‘class fantasy’ returned. Emp DS (EmpP) was back without needing a piece of gear to use it, HoW baseline, it was good to see WoA baseline. The talents looked a mess and just thrown together, but things were looking good.
That was on day one, fast forward, we are through Alpha, and ploughing through Beta, many Ret paladins have given their concerns and legitimate feedback with some great suggestions regarding the issues Ret still has, and ways to fix the talent trees, yet we are still here, our talents looking the same now as they did on the first day of Alpha.
Are the paladin designers really happy with this? Are you guys done? Do you step away from your P.C’s at night and look at the current state of Retribution and get goosebumps because you know without a shadow of a doubt that this iteration of the spec is going to be spoken about as the golden age of WoW’s retribution?
If the answer is no then WHY are you in the design team?
