Can’t see me lasting too much longer, The Maw and Torghast are mind numbingly boring and the state of PVP is beyond embarrassing now.
Well the forums are a contributing factor for sure. Part of my enjoyment of WoW definitely stems from talking about it and discussing the various aspects of it. I enjoy that and the forums facilitate a nice venue for it. And Shadowlands on its own provides lots of interesting WoW topics to talk about.
So yeah, the forums are definitely part of the subscription value.
And also falsely boost sub numbers cause you have to sub to vent.
I usually just play for the story and RPG experience, if after that my interest is still held I’ll start doing mythic+.
But the fact that theyve gated basic story chapters is an enormous turn off for me.
Time gating is nothing new to Blizzard at this point, but despite everybody consistently saying how much they hate it throughout the years, they still continue to add more of it. And it’s seeped into every crevice of the game now.
No, you’re just pedantic.
If Havoc doesn’t get either a proper buff or a significant change which would feel tangible on a daily basis to where it would change people’s perception on the class/spec (effectively meaning that I actually get invited to M+ and raid groups, instead of waiting for 1+ hours to get into one), then no, I will most definitely not resub.
I play WoW to play as the class of my favorite character from W3, Illidan, and if I can’t do that, well then what’s the point?
No for me, think this timegated mobile type content has finally killed my WoW addiction I’ve not login in a week and not missing it, turned my gold to tokens to cash and moved all my toons for free back to my dead server so if I ever get the itch again I got no incentive to level them
I’m in two minds about it. I was pumped at launch, but the direction of they have been going with changes makes me think the old blizzard is making a comeback. I like SL, but not enough to waste time on it. And a lot of it is a waste of time right now.
Going to use gold to resub, not sure what else to use it on.
That is the most far fetched reason I have seen for people to stay subbed to the game.
If you are playing and are unhappy you have a subscription and have access to the forums to make whatever points you wish, there are also means to give feedback in game itself. If you have a recurring sub and cancel it you also get an exit questionnaire.
I have never heard of anyone staying ‘subscribed’ in order to be able to take part in the forums. We do have people who don’t like expansions or features and have game time left and will keep coming back to the forums.
There are other places people can discuss World of Warcraft that require no subscription at all. Places like MMO Champion, Icy Veins, Wowhead, Reddit etc
I have never heard of anyone staying ‘subscribed’ in order to be able to take part in the forums.
Well you have now.
In the past I’ve subbed to the game only to express my dissatisfaction with the game.
And it pains me to know my sub will be considered ‘a sub’. For the stockholders.
Ever wondered why non-subscribers cant talk about it?
All I can say is you should have managed your time better. If you couldn’t work out when your sub was going to expire and wanted to give feedback direct on the official forums rather than the wealth of free places then that falls on you.
It is wholly sensible that people without subs can not post here.
I’ll stay subbed for gold making with crafting and adding to my Blizzard balance but I’m starting to get bored with this expansion now.
It’s just like… what’s the point in repeating this every day/week and getting almost nothing out of it when I could play all these other games?
I’m not sure if I will. Well I like this expac more than Legion and BfA but I’m still not playing it that much. It’s not that engaging and progression feels meaningless still.
Don’t worry in patch 10.0.1 they will fix the game and remove the stupid systems!!
Shadowlands has doubled down on time consuming boring activities. They must be going all out on player retention.
While I think you overreacted, Blizzard started this whole “boring outdoor content to be effective in content you like” in Legion. Since then I feel like Blizzard makes 90% of the content enjoyable for me BUT to compensate fun they force all players to do some boring/annoying content.
How refreshingly generic.
You’re welcome?
Honestly if they don’t fix old raids and scaling I might not. I’m not interested in raiding and the M+ community is super toxic right now so I’m not really interested in getting into it either.
PVP has always been super imbalanced and I really only enjoyed it during vanilla when world pvp was still a thing. I was on a private server because no money but still.
So what is there left to do? SL content is awful. The maw is a poor man’s Dark Souls. Torghast is absolute torture. Quests and the story are booooring. World quests give almost nothing interesting and they drag out too much.
So usually I just do my daily emissary as well as my weekly renown and then I go back to running old content for Loremaster, transmogs, pets, mounts or simply for atmosphere and content I missed out on. I like chilling in these old zones as a hunter with his pet and with my music in the background. It’s relaxing.
Call me a casual scrub if you want but many people enjoy doing that as well and we all pay subs so Blizzard should care.
Sadly, although I use to love the game - its a no from me this time!
6 month rolling so if I quit it would be kinda pointless. Just scaled back what I do. If I was still on monthly then I may well have taken a couple of months break.
Never before have I gotten to only week 3 of an expansion and begun sighing upon logging in. They keep doing things that make me angry as well. I decided to stop caring and go proper slow mo pace.
