Long questchains like optional attunements, D2 set recraft, anathema and other gear quests etc, scepter questline. I really liked having a loooong questline to work little by little and those could be easily soloed to enjoy themat your own terms.
Its a shame they removed those quests for people who want to do them, how fortunate it is this time around that you have had 4 years to give them a go
So all of a sudden you move from being a roleplayer with only light raiding experience to an uber-hardcore cutting edge progression raider?
OK fine, Iâll bite.
So letâs explore your âpulling 10 mobâ technique shall we?
Youâre on a warrior in Redridge Mountains and youâre around level 20. You run straight into the middle of the large gnoll camp where Fangore patrols, and you rush through it, rounding up 10 of these gnolls at once, and then effortlessly burn them down without problems.
Now I have never seen any player do that in my life at appropriate level in all the years Iâve been playing this game and Iâve been playing since 2005.
Clearly youâre different, youâre some kind of ultra-skilled mega-leet super player with Godly skills far exceeding those of the common rabble, So given the fact youâre clearly so much better than everyone else, is it not time to share those secrets?
Your confusing me with somebody else, I never said i didnât raid, i run my own guild and raid lead and farm 50/50s.
The secret: enchants, gear, game plan, class knowledge.
If i was 20 on a warrior iâd be dripped in dual-crusader and every enchant possible with double trinkets, i would run into a camp of green-level mobs and slaughter them all.
ye
Sorry mate but can you do a standing backflip?
No?
But humans can right?
Same thing, just because you havenât figured it out or canât, doesnât mean its impossible or as you say, even difficult.
How on earth can you claim to be playing since 2005 and consider levelling in wrath ânot effortlessâ. Your opinions on the game come from a place of inexperience tbh.
Donât be offended by it, you said it, other players are better, and its fine. Thereâs nothing wrong with being a casual player, but you canât also say that pushing classes to the limit isnât possible because you clearly have never been there.
âmy character does 5k dps, its impossible that the same class can do 10k dps in the same gearâ is the vibe you give off and you should reconsider your thoughts, the game can be extremely min-maxed and if you arenât interested in that side of it, you canât dispute it offhand.
Chill a little. Why are you so aggressive? If you can manage 10 mobs pull in WOTLK, you will manage 30 in Cata, and everyone will manage 10 in Cata even without experience. That was my point. I didnât say WOTLK has hard leveling, but in Cata, the difficulty is set even lower. To more absurde level.
Ok, I disagree.

I really think your claims are silly, unfounded, and taken from a place of nostalgia and memory that just isnât correct.
It looks just the same.
Time will tell anyway, i think most people, like you, remember incorrectly from their teenage years and are parroting.
Which is fair, WoW has changed significantly over time, canât expect to remember every patch and xpac.
Some 20-min videos? I donât have time to watch this. So you are telling me there is the same difficulty in leveling as WOTLK. I think CATA is much easier. Letâs end it here. No point in arguing.
BTW: your secret, being extremely overgeared on that level, doesnât seem very fun to me, but if you enjoy it that way, good for you. I have my own ways of how to find a challenge, like soloing dungeons few levels lower than my level, etc. I dont enjoy huge pulls that much. But it doesnât matter. Have fun.
Pretending there is any challenge to world of warcraft levelling is just so cringe.
Its a journey, an adventure, getting warped over its difficulty is looking past its purpose.
Yeah same as you, I donât consider it a on-hold item. I enjoyed them ages ago, because I didnât participate in the classic versions except for WOTLK mount event. It would require time, split from my retail goals and nobody from my wow friends considered playing classic, so it would be bad return of investment for me.
You can level with a minimum challenge if you want. That is different. Why am I doing this? Talking with these kinds of people on the internet. IDK
why indeed.
If you spend huge amounts of gold or mats enchanting every one of your alts to give them a temporary buff while levelling and using ridiculously overpowered heirlooms and other twink gear and taking on âgreen levelled mobâ as you put it, then yes you can kill ten at once, anyone can, there is no skill whatsoever in doing that as you massively out-rank the mobs youâre fighting.
But I wasnât talking about green mobs, I was talking about mobs the same level as you or higher. Even with your ten uber-twinked alts thatâs not going to happen. You could handle perhaps five - and no, Iâm not talking about AoE farming on a Mage or Hunter.
And yes, for me, whoâs running around in level-appropriate greens, no enchants, no twink gear, no heirlooms levelling is not effortless.
why would you
not a game design issue
Finally. So letâs revise your statement in the name of truth.
You can take on 10 mobs that you outlevel on a massively overpowered, enchanted twink character.
There you go.
At level 20? yeah, because youâve unlocked barely any of your class power.
Face it mate, youâll be steamrolling through the content if you choose to.
Just as you choose to roleplay as an npc in greens and 1v1ing mobs, some people prefer to roleplay as heroes wearing epic items that glow and stick out their chest when they stroll through the town, effortlessly slicing through mobs.
This is the same in vanilla, tbc, wrath and cata.
Nothing changes.
Personally i think the design of âchoose your power level, more effort = powerâ is brilliant and what contributes to the RPG of this MMO.
was cata when unholy could snapshot and then keep dots rolling for ever? if so yes if not no
nah please no cata just do mop or legion but not cata.
Whats gonna happen is that all the wanna be retail raiders are gonna be pumped for Cata which is why its so popular on these boards.
But what ppl dont get is that these boards only are small percent of overall players and only a small percent of players are try hard sweaty speedrunners.
So what I say is that for a few months Cata will have loads of players then as ppl realise how boring and crap it is and how it ruins most of the game subs will take a dive just like back in the day leaving just a few sweaty raid loggers and even theyll get bored eventually with farming dragon soul for month after month
If the sub drops the same % as og cata, it will mimic current wrath classic.
What is the problem with this? You can still be a sweaty in CLASSIC and CLASSIC hardcore while the other people enjoy Cata and later MOP.
Why is everything black and white for you (and a lot of people these days)?
