Are you returning for phase 4?

Personally, i really don’t know if i will play phase 4,
i think too much damage has been done and its unfixable, however i will wait and see,

for me to return there needs to be some very big changes, they need to redo, tweak, delete, adjust and add to A LOT of things,

just because they’re making kara crypts a raid isn’t enough,

the dev’s need to remember the foundations that SOD is built on…vanilla wow, because it seems they have completely abandoned the classic touch,

but time will tell if i play,

will you be returning?

I haven’t left, I’m just raidlogging.
I’ll be playing P4 and whatever comes next as I’m in a guild that I enjoy raiding with.
I do hope they improve the game in multiple areas or I’ll be raidlogging, together with 90% of my guild, for the remainder of the whole Season.

In addition I probably won’t start playing other iterations of WoW if they fail SoD P4+. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Yes, you are not. I would directly cancel my sub and back to pservers

What phase 4? xD still cant believe we aint got any info. It better be good.

Well exactly, they need to pull something really big out of the bag.

I’m coming back for P4 but depending on what they do I could just yeet myself out after 30 minutes or 10 hours.

It really depends.

The whole “it’s about the journey not the destination” is ruined. Plain and simple. There is no fixing that. So that means the endgame has to be cashmoney.

But what is the end game exactly? 20 man raiding? 40 man? No flex raiding for 10 mans at all?

Stupid RNG drops and ilvl ladder climbing that just drags out the experience into a tedious slog?

No x10 to rep gains so we have to spend dozens of hours grinding for something?

And what of our characters at the end of SoD? What happens to them? Until I know what happens to my character I just can’t see myself putting in more time than 1 hour every time I play the game because I just don’t think it is worth the time investment to potentially have the character or everything that the character has worked toward removed by the end.

I’ve already invested an unhealthy amount of time into SoD and upon self reflection I realize that this is not casual (which they claimed it would be) at all. I got 20 days of game time on my warlock (that’s 480 hours of played time) and I still haven’t 100% everything that is available because of how sluggish a lot of things can be.

So yeah I mean I’m done taking SoD seriously. I will approach it as Aggrend has promised it to be, a casual game mode. Either phase 4 is approachable in a casual way or it isn’t. And if it isn’t then ok, cool. I’m not the target audience, that’s fine. I’ll leave.

I just don’t think you should claim that something is casual when it isn’t. “Oh but it is casual”; Then we have very different views of what time investment is considered “casual”.

So even if Phase 4 isn’t a dumpsterfire in regards to its balancing, design, rune “rework”, carrots on sticks etc if the game is just designed to suck the life out of me then I’m out. I got other things to play that don’t take dozens of hours to attain minute improvements.

However, I have a sneaking suspicion that i was never the intended target audience. I guess we’ll see who they’ll cater to in phase 4 when it drops. :person_shrugging:

i have never left. after cata release I created a new alt on sod and play it mainly. I don’t like cataclism. I tried exp there but it’s boring and i dont know endgame at all so i dont wanna feel like a noob

The thing is i feel like SOD is closer to cata than it is to vanilla now

I’m not sure, phase 2 and 3 were a huge disappointment. I’m not sure if I want to endure phase 4 at this point.

define disappointment. maybe you are just a retail/cata player. sod is rather for classic wow enjoyers

Gotta see What P4 is all about

I believe they are going to introduce a few new runes and tuned 20m MC along with some reworked dungeon items and thats it. I don’t see any potential for something bigger than that

Ofc i gonna play phase 4. Sod even at his trash stage rn still better than classic era

Well, depends on how fun it is with the guild then because if the raids and dungeons are donkey then I’ll just tap out.

Why am I supposed to define dissapointment for you, if this forum gives plenty of examples why it’s a dissapoinment. Btw. good joke about the classic enjoyer thing.

the answer is simpler. He didn’t play in depth, not in Cataclysm, not in Vanila. I know people who play both Cataclysm and SOD. for them the difference is big, but here they are looking for a reason to be indignant

I thought i would but as time pass by, and as p4 will probably drop during summer vacation, probably not.

Unless devs dratictly change direction and go back to the design principles of p1. (I know, not happening).

depends. if p4 is just molten core farm for the “first phase” then no. been there, don that
