Mostly as a damage dealer, but my first level 80 was shaman, so healing wasn’t really necessary, same with my paladin, but I might give healer a try on my warrior
On bosses i have used him as healer. But mostly dps.
Usually healer. But … on level 11 he just keeps standing in goo and avoidable stuff while he refuses to heal himself. And sometimes he just refuses to toss out healing potions… So he’s not a very skilled one at that…
But whenever I have him as damage, his damage is almost neglectable.
So I’m gonna vote for option 3: I’m having him in my group as a huge burden.

Healer. I use my Hunter Pet as the tank and strafe around to grab the potions. It works okay… wouldn’t say it’s spectacular though.

When on a tank, I use him as DPS, when on my DPS characters, I use him as a healer.
Healer. I’ve tried both, but at least as a fury warrior, he is better for me that way.

healer. i tried once as dps and it was a failure
Dps since im a healer myself. He does less dps then me as healer though so kinda useless 
Healer. My pet does the tanking and the potions he chucks around heal both me and my pet so can use those in between mend when needed.

I use him as a healer. The few times that I’ve tried him as DPS his damage was low and he frequently got knocked out.
He should have a tank spec/setup to be moderately useful for most non tank players

Healer.
I used to dps duo with him and his execute is nice but stuff dies quickly now and it just feels a bit easier.
Healer. With the Recuperator talent being unreliable beyond 30 seconds (why can’t this be fixed /sigh), I find it much more doable by staggering my pick up of the healing potions.
I just wish they would tweak his AI so that he doesn’t facetank mobs while standing in bad; and for all the other annoyances that so many people have pointed out. I get that Moira is the brains of the clan, but does Brann really have to be so damned stupid?

I had tried using him as a dps for a bit but once they fixed him he was kind of useless so I just went back to using him as a healer.
Dps if playing tank spec, healer otherwise. Brann’s traps and execute ability is still more than worth it if you can survive without the potions.
Healer with the extra pot when you run over a pot idol, Keep that buff at 4 stacks by delaying picking them up and no damage will kill you.

Does his “dps” spec do any relevant dps ? I tried it and it was not even noticeable so he’s been stuck as a healer since then. To at least do SOMETHING.
I am pretty sure his “dps” spec does less damage than my Voidwalker on my lock so…
