Arena 2v2 smurfs

SO MANY GOD DAM ARENA SMURFS BETWEEN 1400 AND 1800 ow my god !
the ammount of boosters and fake low cr players is god dam insane.

i litterly dropped from 1850+ to 1600 and can’t even get pas 1700 again from the ammount Hell that is going on right now .

I AM TALKING THIS WEEK ! almost 90% of the players i check every arena are either 2.2k 2.7k boosting or seasonal 2.4 and dropping cr all way to 1400

I can get it when people either want the elite sets for transmogs, or the high item level gear for their PvE activities while not having the skill to get there on their own. They’re after the rewards while disliking arena itself as a concept.

But, to reply more on topic… it’s still very early into the season, Hl. Many players have simply not gotten around to pushing their rating high yet, while also having past experience and therefore appearing to be ‘smurfs’. Give it a few weeks and the situation’ll stabilise itself.

Is this really a surprise? Every PvE player that doesn’t try to get 1600 for easy heroic raid ilvl gear from the vendor right now is just plain stupid.

Easiest way for them to get that is buying a boost, which should be fast and cheap. You can literally boost anyone to 1600, no matter how bad they are.

E: I guess I am also “guilty” since many PvE only friends suddenly wanna do arenas, sorry for that
But as long as we get a increase in arena participation, I see this as a positive development. Maybe some of them will stick around.

Boosting is in the game becouse of bad design that locks pvp gear behide raiting wall. Raiting should give you titles mounts transmog… ( cosmetics). And should make pvp gear CHEAPER to upgrade. Let say unranked player should pay like 14k honor for single boost above 184i lvl. and raiting should makes it cheaper like 1400+ 20% 1600+ 40% 1800+ 60% and 2000+ 80%. Reason for that i play only random BGs. I dont enjoy arenas i play like 2 games and bored out of my mind. PVP in RPG should be large scales battles or open world pvp not dueals in a box.
I am sitting on a cap for 2 weeks and spaming M+ to get gear now. Wich is sad couse i want to play random bgs but no gear for me and i am falling behide. I bet a lot of players feels the same. Long story short for me i see two ways that ends I Buy raiting boost so i can play what i want and progress my gear or quit the game.

giggles, yea we slap them 1700 CR people with 200 iLvL as 160 iLvL players, it takes some time though.

People are making alts currently, so it is normal to see such matchups and since PvP gearing is good, there will be more smurfs than there was during BfA trash.

… “Smurfing” isn’t a thing in a rating system like this. It’s not like mobas where you’ve got 10k rating as max while beginners play around 2k. In WoW’s rating system, you’ve got placement games and when you reach where it has stabilized then that’s the ability (ability is a combination of both gear potential and “skill” itself, or simply the “ability to win” for short) you’re currently performing at, on that character with that team.
Before the rating has stabilized, it’s simply part of the system’s way to keep adjusting the MMR until it finds where you fit in as a team in an accelerated manner. The ability to play with more than a fixed team however makes that even more volatile on average.

So “smurfing” isn’t a thing in this game. There’s just stable MMR, and unstable MMR.

PS:
This isn’t like with mobas and multiple accounts either, in WoW then each character has its own personal rating which means you can play on 1.5k rating on one character but 3k rating on another character (as an example, not saying it’s common). While characters themselves have different abilities, both with your ability to handle each class not being exactly the same, and how the gear and borrowed powers aren’t exactly the same either. And ofc, your ability to play each comp varies as well.

While in mobas, “smurfing” is a thing because of the huge rating climb which separates the “bad” from the “good” by quite a lot of rating, and the ability to pick your hero for each game and everyone starting with the same stuff, and that makes the idea of playing on lower rating with a new account a different thing altogether. It’s not comparable to WoW.
Account rating vs. character rating is a big part of that as well. WoW uses character rating because it’s an immersive RPG while mobas use account rating because you can play any hero for every match.
Account rating isn’t compatible with WoW as an immersive RPG.

Dragonslayers buy ratings for easy bis gear items and the fact that they have no use for the millions of gold anyway. Thats what happens, when you refuse to use a pvp stat in pvp…both pvp and pve players will hate you. Thank you Scamzzard.
