please list the name of working addons i can have in arena. i havent been using any for a while, because dragonflight is trash etc. etc. :
that addon that shows when enemy uses big offensives on his portrait (weakaura?)
that addon that shows when my teammates are in cc in a promenant display (also weak aura??)
that addon that gives me notification popping out of a portrait of one of my spells, to tell me it just came out of cd, so i can use it (doomcooldown? does it even work?)
any other addon also would be appreciated (gladius not important)
Yes “Doom Cooldown Pulse” works, I use it as well.
“Ability Team Tracker” is pretty useful to have, and of course Omnibar if you don’t have it already. Also for weakauras the Mes package, just copy and paste it ingame.
sArena (better than Gladius due to customization, personal opinion)
NamePlateCooldowns / Omnibar. They both do the same thing, only difference is where you see it. Nameplatecooldowns shows you all enemy cooldowns which are currently on cooldown above the enemy player’s unit frame. Omnibar does the exact same thing, but it is somewhere on your screen where you placed it in a fixed position. Regardless if you get 1 or the other, you can customize what spells you want to track. Example, if a Windwalker used Leg Sweep, it will display the remaining seconds to the next Leg Sweep, etc.
BigDebuffs: shows current buffs / debuffs on the target. For Example, a Ret Paladin activated Wings, you will see the Wings icon instead of his character portrait on the Unit frame and the remaining duration of that.
Omnicd (very important): Shows the available cooldowns of your teammates next to party frames. You can customize which ones you want to see, and this will show you for example if your healer has any big CD available for you or if it is on cooldown, or if your teammate has any cooldowns of their own.
Diminish: Shows the diminishing returns on yourself or enemies (I personally disabled it for enemies, since sArena does that for me). This is primarily useful against Rogues or stun heavy classes, knowing if you are off Stun DR can mean the difference between knowing when the Rogue will do his next attempt to kill you or not.
WeakAuras. WeakAuras are extremely useful in Arenas, as long as you don’t bloat your screen with many different ones. A lot of people fall into the trap of grabbing a million weakauras and then their screen looks like a NASA rocket controlling station.
WeakAuras are basically like mini-addons that display important information for you on screen. They can also make sounds (all of this is fully customizable) when something happens.
To benefit from WeakAuras, you need to firstly install the addon from Curse, and then start importing separate weakauras or making your own(this is slightly more advanced, but easier than it sounds). They are all on the Wago io website, you find a specific one, press “copy import string” then go ingame on your addon, press “import” and then just CTRL + V (copy paste) the code inside and press import and voala, you got it. Also friends in your party can share ones with you by linking them in chat and you can just press the link to grab the information.
The 2 most important WeakAuras are “Healer CC” (will display on your screen every time your healer is in CC with a sound effect, as well as the duration and effect that he is CC’ed by) download link here https://wago.io/Dl9GhMDxH and Mes WeakAura package https://wago.io/pjH2s0KV3 which will display nearly everything in the game you need to be aware with along with its duration. For example, if a Demo warlock pops tyrant, you will see on your screen in purple text that Tyrant is up and how much time is remaining on it.
Other Weakauras are more of a preference thing, I personally use a few to track stacks of tiersets for my different characters or procs instead of looking at my buff list up on my screen.
Generally WeakAuras are fun to mess around with once you get the hang of them, I made a custom one for my Destro lock that shows the 5 pieces of Exodia on screen when I get different haste procs and precog and a separate Precog one that yells " EMOTIONAL DAMAGE" every time
