In my opinion arena would be a fun addition to the game. Unlike world PvP and battlegrounds, you can actually express your skill without getting swarmed. Some might argue that it will be incredibly unbalanced and I totally agree, but so is every other aspect of the game. Obviously there would be a bit of work to implement the queueing and rating systems, but it’s also content that would be applicable to every single season going forward. It may also appease some of the players who find the seasons to be too drawn out, who are essentially just raid logging during the end of the season. Anyhow, that’s just my two cents on the matter, hopefully it will be added in a future season! :^)

I’d support it if they separate PvP from PvE so balance can be done separately.
It sucks so bad to be nerfed in either area because of the other. That’s most definitely the reason why they couldn’t keep buffing casters (especially balance druids) in raids - they’d be way too strong in PvP.

I would like arena’s only for fighting peeps in a controlled setting. I do not want any kind of rating system however. Just make it some kind of a rep bonus to a selected pvp faction instead, like “I fight for Wonky Bungas!” and then you get Wonky Bungas faction rep if you win.

Arenas in classic do not make sense, because in classic people can play what they want, since there is no “competitive meta” aside from wlogs, so ppl can play and experiment at their will.
If arenas are introduced, alot of people will play the fotm class, locking the freedom of playing whatever you want just because it’s suboptimal.
Also, Classic PvP depends alot on consumibles, and people would “need to farm” alot of gold, mostly from IRL money, for bots, creating a toxic ecosystem where only high hardcore players and RMT enjoyers would have the win condition secure vs regular casual players.
Also, in raids, people would roll for BiS PvP items vs some classes that actualy want those items for BiS PvE, creating some drama in certain groups, just because of the so called Meta.
So yeah, even if they were about to be super good and funny, the consequences are so dramatic that it’s just not worth it to add.
Do you know that you can play wargames in SoD? 
You know that you play a classic version with retail talents? If you don’t want changes then play Era.

Last phase arena with fixxed DR timers would be insane.
Classic core / engine with retail spells but sadly this won’t be a thing probably.
And posting that in this forum will only trigger all the roomtemp IQ player.

I think it’s a great idea, a good way to explore arenas without the 100 micro ccs in retail with every class having the same abilities and being a massive melee meta. It would be refreshing to have a “simplified” version of classes like sod compared to retail to explore in the arena. Not to mention it is a seasonal server plus it’s here to explore different avenues so for those who keep saying oh its “classic” it stopped being classic the second it had “runes” aka wotlk talents ect braught into it.

The SoD team won’t ever think arena has a place in Classic, I feel.
And maybe they are right.
It would be poly/sap all the time. Arena, as we know it, would not work in vanilla.
But there can be new styles of arenas. Like 15 people will get ported in, deathmach style, and last who will survival will get some honor or something. It would be fun. If stealth would be changed.

Without major adjustments to CC/Class stacking it’d be straight misery.
A well maintained 5vs5 arenas I could see potentially work eventually when they sorted out the major outliers. Doubt it’d happen no matter how loud community would be.
Deathmatch or 5v5 arena ‘fun’ mode for non BiS rewards to not compete with raid gear. or even novelty or ‘fun’ items. Sounds like something that could fit the SoD style.
Not sure it has a remote chance of happening though 
But one can dream.

Add it in, and if it becomes a fotm/meta snoozefest at least we gave it a try and people can just not do it if they don’t like it.

Id love 1v1 arenas, the one in Ogrimmar needs to be used.
It would be great to have an arena system where CCs last 10 seconds max, and more resilience or dmg reduction. We want this, so be it!
