Arena tips from exp players needed

Dear experienced players, i’m started arena with arms war 3 days ago, now i’m 1400 and increasing of rating is quite complicated. I’m 195, full honor gear + combatant conquest weapon and two pieces, 31k hp. I mainly playing with druid, sometimes with hpal.

Problems:

  • rogue/mage - I just don’t know what to do. Rogue alone can eat my 50% hp, and then mage will do real oneshoot. If I trink cheapshot - I can get blind and they just going away. If I will bladestorm - they will go away without blind, rogue somehow is able to reset even with bleed on him. I’m starting staying back to some pillar, so rogue cannot do something from backside, it helping, but not much.

  • feral + ww - they are able to melt me instantly, and without using essential cd. WW starting to burst, and feral to attack - I must use parry to survive. Without parry I’m dead in 0.3-5 sec on convoke, even if I will do ancient shock/stun. What to do ? Typically feral are big problems in any setup, because crazy dmg and ability to kite a lot.

  • anything + procto pal - Im winning them only when able to cleave both and use bladestorm on both. In such case with small chance i’m killing prot teammate / sometimes even pal himself. They have big burst + ppal not going OOM, so it’s really wtf scenario for me.

  • afli warlock + fire mage - they just constantly resetting, and heal cannot outheal their burst. From warlock I have perma-slow, fire mage are just really hard to kill. Iceblock, plus cauterize, plus barrier, plus pod. Afli is surprisingly mobile, as night fae i’m able to reach him, but he’s not alone, i’m getting ring of frost and then it’s a problem.

I understand that those setups supposed to be complex to me, but it should be chance (and do not say that it don’t, there are high ranking warriors : )) and I want to get it.

It would be nice to give tips/name videos or guide, where I can get the relevant tactics. I’m trying to play good, doing focus, fears, controls, adjusting talents and so on. But it feels that I am skipping something.

P.S. I encountered rogue + fire mage (we won them), rogue had 41k hp, i’m 31, plate-wearer. What’s wrong ? I’m in top BG gear and some conquest. I played WOTLK, but cannot remember such gear disparities.

Thanks for suggestions : )

I think it was better and you would get more inf if you added your post on the PVP/Arena forum. However, best of luck.

I’ve tried that, but there are a avalanche of topics in PvP forum. And people mainly whining / discussing some pro player outfit and behaviour.

Here people are much more responsible. Thanks for luck)

ok so, 1st of all chek pvp guides, either bajheera the warrior on NA u can find him on youtube and watch hes 2v2 games. and verry important is to chek on youtbe skillcapped channel . u will find guides and tips , gameplay for all clases, how to play how to counter etc. as for ure questions. mage rogue. u need to trinket asap when they open on u and fear or use die by the sword, play disarm there and go for rogue as main target. try to play overwatch pvp talent and intervine ure healear when a poly is cast on him it will be redirected to u. u need to be distruptive agaist theyr setups, disarm fear use bladestorm as a cc breaker not neceserly to deal dmg.

I saw Bajheera, his videos. He’s playing excellent and his healer is super too. And they sometimes dying from burst.

However, on my rating healers are not so experienced (and so do I), and bursts are pretty much the same – I don’t felt any difference between rogue + mage and rogue + mage on video.

About skill-capped - thanks, I will check it.

Against rogue/mage you ideally insta trinket cheapshot into stormbolt, then disarm after he trinkets if he doesn’t vanish and train mage if he does.
You should survive with dstance/ignore pain. Might have to banner the sheeps onto your healer.
Against ww you just play aggressively and twoshot him after karma. They are that squishy. Just don’t try to do damage into fists. I usually play with a paladin so he just bops it and I kill through. Reflecting thorns is also a good idea sometimes.
Against affli/mage I would probably sit affli until he dies trying to disrupt as much mage cc as I can. But that’s more of a good positioning fight so that your healer can los sheeps and fears. Don’t let them kite you too much. Sometimes it’s even better to just hug the pillar on their go.
I’m not too good of a pvper though. Usually play around 2k and haven’t played too much this season either.

There are far better streamers to watch and learn from than Baj. Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy and have been following him for the best part of 10 years, but I’ve learnt more from watching the likes of Trill, Joefernandes and Mag streaming than I ever would from Baj.

Again, not hating on Baj, there are just more insightful streams to learn Warrior.

Take Double Time, trust me. You’ll lose Stormbolt, but there is little point stunning an enemy you can’t reach. Utilise one of your team-mates stuns to set up kills, or use Spear if you play Kyrian. Also, do not chase a specific target. If you’re being kited you’re doing zero damage, rendering you completely ineffective and you may as well be dead. Switch to the closest target and start putting out pressure.

But the lock is on 30%!.. and you want that kill, I know, but you’re Sacralashed and by the time you actually get to him he’s already out of execute range and feeling good, while you left his buddy behind you to free cast while you were chasing. Now you’re stuck out in the open and rotting to death.

Hit the closest guy until someone else gets closer.

Not played rated arena yet this season so I really cannot advise, but maybe, just maybe, would be better for you to have my legendary. Since I dont have that much time for WoW these days, I’ll just say in Shadowlands PvP it aids me greatly. Say, kiting? What’s that?

If u are stuck with warrior on 1400 you can give up there is no help for you anymore.

Honestly work on your rotation and gear. Warr pvp is basicly do as much dmg as you can while stopping the enemy from doing it when they use cds. Not gonna go thru all matchups but playing with a pala against rogue/mage you trinket cheap shot spell reflect if the mage is casting poly intervene your healer (with overwatch talent) and stormbolt rogue bam you just ruined their go, now your pala has to stun the mage or restun the rogue fear on the mage (if he used trinket on his own poly) if he gets close while you are doing all this and then do as much dmg as you can to rogue before he uses trinket/vanish or both. Sit mage while you wait for rogue and when rogue comes back its your palas turn to use def cds honestly this is how i play the matchup at 2.1 and this is how i see most people doing it or a variation of it. Now if you wanna climb all you need to do as a warrior is big dmg and stop stuff, disarm other warriors avatar warbreaker fear combusts stop convokes etc etc thats it.

Most important thing as arms is the weap

Why ur so negative he has literally no gear
