I echo that, TRP or MRP are good choices, they not only allow you to describe your character better than just what the model looks like, but also they kind of are a bit of a sign to other RPâers that you are an RPâer yourself, so theyâre not just going to get some nutter talking about football in /say, for example.
Itâs good to know the RP Hotspots. For Alliance its simple. Thatâs Stormwind. Old Town, Cathedral district, Mage Quarter, just not that Trade district, that way lies madness. There are other hubs which are awesome, but those are the big ones.
For Horde its trickier, there is no one big hub, Horde RP tends to be numerous in Orgrimmarâs Valley of Honour, and also the East side of SilvermoonâŚ.If you treat Murder Row as kind of a border, youâd not be far wrongâŚ
Contrary to popular opinion, you donât -need- to be in a guild to get RP, I mean it sure helps, having a merry bunch of comrades and can open a lot of doors, but you donât -need- to, an unguilded character can have fun, and make friends who are in guilds, without joining the guilds themselves.
You say youâre a long time roleplayer from tabletop and such, ugh, I am guilty of that as well, 22 years rolling that D20, After a couple of years I moved on to hardcore stuff, fell in with the âwrong crowdâ and started LARP, so it sounds like its just the âwhereâ for RP rather than the âhowâ, so those areas listed above are good, but also checking the AD forums and going âHmm, whats going on there, looks like a large conglomeration of people, I may try to hook myself up with thatâŚâ
(Pro tip, I think the Silverpine campaign advertised on the AD forums is still open to individuals, just not massive guildsâŚMight be worth having a look at that)
