First impressions of the trade chat when i eventually got to the city was that it’s an authentic wow experience from my memories in dabbling with p servers.
People talk, sellers are few and far in between and people seem to be interacting with each other, at least that’s how it appeared at first glance.
Went to Goldshire, thing didn’t dissapoint tbh, immediately as the players started getting drawn as i was getting closer there’s a human warrior laying on the ground and a night elf dk sitting on him yelling “you’re not supposed to put your hand there”. I was like lmao.
But the real shocker was when i entered the inn, so far i have nothing really juicy to report from there (i’m writing this as i’m still inside) except there’s loads of people in that first room, never seen so many people in an inn before, honestly the feeling when you step in is like it’s alive or on the flipside that you’ve just disturbed some cult in one of their things.
Will report more as i level on that server! (the goal is actually to get a mount on horde side that you get for completing the war campaign on both sides-tho i wonder if i shouldn’t have created a dh for that as i’d start at 98)
In any case, no worries tho, they cannot corrupt me, my antimagic shell is strong.
AD is much more than just Goldshire. If you put in some effort, I am sure you will realize this. Goldshire is a place where most players from AD never go to.
Ya, that’s np.
Personally i’m not that interested in rp-ing or even less in rp-ing a horny dude, but i did go to the server to check the place out in regards to community. Seems to be living up to the hype so far, that said i havent been there long.
I second this. AD’s RP community is separate from the thing going on in Goldshire. Also AD’s trade chat mostly involved non-RPers aswell, in my experience. That more applies to Ally side. The trade chat can be an odd place sometimes, no need to bother with it much.
But the RP community is great, many lovely people here, more interactions, more friendship, etc. I myself found so many lovely friends there. Uruk himself is amazing, for example.
Although tensions may occur aswell, to be honest, just like anywhere. Due to disagreements and other things.
Have fun on AD, and i recommend giving RP a try! Others will be happy to help you get in…
And… Avoid Goldshire like a plague.
In recent times I’ve constantly toyed with the idea of transferring to AD. Not just for the RP atmosphere but for the whole community aspect, everything seems to be going on there. My favourite YouTuber is also on AD.
Goldshire is actually pretty ok. With WM on!!! Seriously go there with WM on and the place is deserted. I actually found myself giving a sigh of relief as it is a pretty cool place without the losers around.
Stormwind though really is amazing on AD. Whether you RP or not the atmosphere and the in game characters is just great. I have found myself listening into others RP and if you find some decenter rp’ers it is really engaging and immersive.
Make sure you get the TRP3 add-on if you’re gonna observe RP. Unsurprisingly, everything in Goldshire is hush-hush under the table, kept in whispers and party chats, but their TRP profiles, yikes.
Stormwind meanwhile is more of a 50/50 mix between ‘yikes’ and ‘alright’.
Yeah as bad as the reputation is for RP realms and the Lions Pride inn, I rarely see anything off there other than Draenei, Humans and Night Elves in their underwear (mostly all female). It’s actually suprisingly tame.
There was the time that someone said they’d RP “naughty things” with me so I went along with it for the lulz. They wanted 20 gold but I managed to haggle them down to like 50 silver, gave it and they ran off seemingly thinking they’d pulled the crime of the century.
Also there’s usually a dancing Pandaren outside the inn, he’s something of a local celebrity/
It does feel more alive then alot of realms, esp places like the Cathedral district.
On Horde side AD I really like Silvermoon City as well. lots of RP going on and its fun to just visit.
