Going into The War Within, I’m hoping something like this can be implemented.
So basically, what I would like is…
In PvP for reaching 1800 you earn the current seasons Gladiator set. Now obviously there was a vote recently for season 4 on what the sets would look like, which hasn’t taken effect in PvP. So in light of this oversight, why not just reward players with an additional token which they can use to purchase any old Gladiator set (from any season) once they reach a higher rating, say 2000, or 2200, something that doesn’t already have a reward.
Something similar could then be implemented in PvE… How, I don’t know, I don’t do enough PvE to really know what that gearing/reward system looks like. Maybe for completing every dungeon on +10 they get a token to buy any heroic raid set, completing all on +15, you can buy any mythic raid set… I dunno
No. Same discussion as the MoP CM sets.
You’re not getting those. Get the next ones.
There are literally thousands of armor appearances in this game, it’s fine for a dozen of them to be exclusive.
Especially since these are not even unique appearances, but merely the 7th recolor of a PvE armor set that you can still get in several different shades.
Just because people are so ree about it I’m going to say YES! ALL THE THINGS!

I own wod cm weps, and honestly i dont care if it becomes unexclusive in my own opinion locking and removing everything away is just lame.

Exclusivity drives away new/returning players tho.
I still remember vividly having a time-limited, exclusive exotic weapon in Destiny 2 and a friend who just returned to the game asked from where I got it. Told him it was from the “Guardian Games” (basically a Destiny-version of the Olympa, but heavily rigged in the perception of the community), an event that happens once every year.
When I told him that and that he had to wait another year just to get this weapon (it was a gatling gun with an overshield ability), he quit on the spot just after downloading and considering to returning to the game.
Now, imagine you are a new player, play the game for the first time within the first 2h-10h. You see another player with a very nice transmog set you would love to have yourself because it perfectly represents your vibe with a class… Only to learn that this set is unobtainable and will never return as a reward.
What do you think would happen? The player being like “oh, I see” or rather be like “that’s a load of !”

The Point of Elite Mogs is to make people participate in a PvP Season.
No PvP set ever will make me and other PvP haters go play PvP in its current design. I rather would drink a weak acid and burn my throat than “happily enjoy PvP in WoW”.
If Blizzard wants players to participate in a PvP season, they should rework PvP to be easier to learn and master than it currently is.
It’s so incredibly unfun that every potential new player quits on the spot.
Edit: And this is coming from someone who rushed from the lowest PvP EU leaderboard rank to #1 within a day in ESO on EU Xbox Megaserver. Just for a transmog set (I still wear it to this day).

I own most of the Legion MT appearances and I agree. FOMO rewards should come back. There is 0 reason why MT now doesn’t unlock the appearances.
Well you obviously aren’t the target audience since you have never played PvP anyway
The apperance raid set and pvp set were voted for separately I believe
I tried several times between SL S3 and DF S2. It’s just not fun, especially Arena. Baiting out defensives and trinket usage, CC-chaining/timing just to land a single kill.
I have different expectations for a “fun PvP experience”.
About rated BGs I can’t say anything but that is simply due to the group-requirement to even queue up.
It will get better next Expansion with Solo Rated BG. No more Group needed and BGs are much more relaxing/“easier to play” for the average Player than Arena
If that is really happening, I might try it again. But in any case, that would be too late because all the sets I did want to have are gone and locked.
And the PvP set next season I would like to have is likely the regular PvP set anyways, so I have no need to hurry since those can be easily grinded for with Honor.
Speaking of that one (I assume it’s the PvP set):

Sure, but, here’s the thing.
Switching to a system where you get a token to buy an appearance you want for a token you get for a mid to high rating doesn’t…change that? If anything, it potentially gives an extra incentive, especially if someone doesn’t vibe with the appearance of the current season.
i do care
i paid whooping 150k gold for that CM boosts - both in mop and wod
so i want them to be super ultra exclusive to peopel who like i did - bought boosts back then
still think that pala set from mop cm was worth all the gold i spend on buying boost
I have the CM set on my shaman. I couldn’t care less if others can obtain it.
I’ve also gotten the elite sets every season in DF for priest, season 2 for druid and season 2 & 3 for paladin. Couldn’t care less if others can obtain them, got them because I like how they look, not because “lolexclusive”.
I’ve got the MT mogs on holy priest, fire mage, assa rogue & retri paladin and the cat form on feral. Couldn’t care less if others can obtain them.

Nah, it’s likely to be this one:
Since it’s dubbed aspirant armor in the alpha.
That set you linked is likely from something else than honor.
There are already hundreds of easy PvP games out there. If you want a 10 button PvP experience, you can play Guild Wars 2 or a MOBA.
WoW PvP is unique.
Yes, it’s a niche, like RTS games are. But that’s fine.
Leave people who enjoy complex games alone.
Funny, last time you were asking for more gradual rewards for pvp players to see more people involved in pvp but not the “elite” sets.
This is 1 point that would at least provide a bit of interest for players like me who stop after reaching the elite set of the current season. These sets have no prestige in itself, except to say that you are a long term pvp player.
It’s also basically no effort for bliz and could revive a bit the interest on rated pvp, at least for few weeks/months until people collect what they want.
The OP is also not asking for much, I would go further and put this kind of token available on the same principle as a vicious saddle.

If that is the PvP set, I don’t want it very likely (it all depends on how the set in general looks on Draenei).
Blizzard could also just make specific game modes (like we had Plunderstorm) where you have pre-defined abilities and talents that aim for ease-of-use and better sandbox control. Make it an entirely separated data set where your own gear and level doesn’t matter and it is purely about the skill (something so many PvP players claim WoW PvP is about).
And then make it a game mode you select via the PvP finder, queue up for and enjoy. Without the need to rebalancing classes and PvP every season (since it is a separated dataset instance).
