Arms PvE Buff ideas

Instead of asking for any buffs. Lets just brainstorm what would improve arms dps in raids without altering pvp balance.
Ways to achieve this would be changing some ability synergies that are not normaly chosen by fury (rumors say fury will be ok? so dunno) or arms pvp. Cataclysms rend/thunderclap comes to mind (via imp bloodrage), ofc that would change prot a lot. So probably not.
Or glyphs. A Slam glyph that gives some stacking buff, like 2/4/6% arp, since arms allready has it easier with arp, maybe expand on it.

Im just spitballing here. Let us dream about a better future, even if it never comes.
What are your ideas?

There’s no way to reliably buff arms to make it useful as DPS without making it OP in PVP; it’s already a PVP focussed spec and is a very strong one for that role.

Rend is one of their highest damage in pvp. Thunderclap is the only ability arms doesnt use in pvp apart from killing hunter snakes.

Guess one “easy” solution (If they wanted to fix Arms) would be to make a Glyph.

Make X and Y ability do Z% more to non players. Wont break pvp, or change rotation. It will just make Arms a real spec for PvE.

But as stated already, Arms is a PvP spec, same as Frost (Mage), Sub, etc etc. Back then not all specs were PvE viable. And you knew which specs were made for PvP. So again, could they do it ? Sure, but will they ? Doubt it.

Then again, I never expected a cat buff, or a Ret buff… or a UH DK nerf.

Why wield one twohander if you can wield two tho…?

Arms has an incredible unful playstyle with Slam as main filler abilty. It makes the spec feel trash to play and it should remain bad so we dont have to play the clunkiest spec in the game. Whoever decided it was a good idea to make a spec a bunch of procs you need to pres + a clunky melee caster bar back in the days did a terrible job. Dont buff arms, most warriors dont wanna touch it.

ofc theres way but u dont have creativity to find a way same as blizzard who nerfed feral in pvp

Separate damage on abilities for both PVE and PVP much like retail does? If that’s what you want, play retail.

You’ll find that us warrior players don’t actually want arms to be viable in PVE, we don’t want to be talked into playing arms so that a rogue doesn’t have to play combat. As the postor above you said: Arms just isn’t fun in WoTLK.

easy way is buffing pve set bonuses abit in arms favor
or add cd reduction to bladestorm when u kill a pve(tauntable) target
or buff Improved Slam talent give it also 5/10% more dmg (never used in pvp)
those are just random things I through about now in 5minutes but u say theres no way - thats what blizzard employees said on retail when added that bs

u dont talk for all some enjoy arms way more but it is far worse than fury and it will become worse and worse each tier

A bit? In order to make arms viable as a DPS option, they’d need to be buffed A LOT.

To make arms viable in PVE, that damage would need to be a lot higher than 10%. Which would also change arms’ DPS rotation to Rend - overpower - slam - slam - slam - slam - overpower - slam - slam.

And were slam buffed enough to make arms DPS viable, it would then be used in PVP. People would create a stunlock - slamspam meta.

Just you. Arms was alright in TBC when you had to weave slam with autos and WF weapon + Swordspec was a good way of generating rage. Arms is also enjoyable with the Cataclysm changes. But outside of that, it’s just dull.

?? they are already viable cuz rog doesnt need to play lower dps spec called combat
buffing them abit is best option , keep fury is still higher dps but make arms is better spec overall for raid due to having 4% physical buff

yeah u I see that u dont even play pvp if u think warriors would spent 2points into spell that makes them stunlocked xd

changes I would do:
4set pve bonus makes mortal strike increase physical dmg to target by 3% by you for 10sec (stackable 3times) - so u have to use mortal strike in pve not just slam
bladestrom cd reduction from pve mobs - would be very solid and fun buff (cuz u think arms is borring)
slam talent buff - 10%

Your raid actually loses more damage from a warrior speccing to arms than a rogue speccing to combat.

Were Slam buffed to a point where it’s damage makes arms viable, then it would become viable in PVP due to the sheer magnitude of the required damage buff.

So in order for them to buff arms, you’d have to add extra tier set bonuses? FYI, the current bonus for T10 by far outweighs your suggestions.

10% more damage on slam wouldn’t make arms viable as a DPS spec.

And buffing other abilities would then buff arms in PVP, which means we’re back to square one. How stupid are you?

Or instead of adding 50 million more things to arms, just do nothing and accept that it was designed as a pvp spec. That’s much better than re-writing half of the game’s code just to make maybe 2 people happy.

I literally wrote u 3things that doesnt affect pvp and would make single target (without adds) stronger by atleast like 13% and add fights like xt by like 30% (if BS cd reduction per mob would be 15) but why I even bother talking to you if u cant even read properly, posting it here for you once again since u cant read

NONE of those things would make arms even CLOSE to viable in PVE.

Further more, some of them like your extra tier set idea are so farfetched and hard to implement. You’re asking for a MASSIVE update just to appease you.

You’re in no position to be questioning anybody’s intelligence.

I’ll do the maths for you. If you took the top Arms parse on Algalon and increased Slam damage by 10% he would gain 82 dps. This is not going to make Arms viable, it’s actually comparable to the difference of eating a food buff before a fight or not.

I honestly want some few things from mop/cata into wotlk, not gonna lie.

But the biggest wish i have, is the pvp trinket bonus from mop. I want it so badly.

for starters remove aoe cap on bladestorm, that would be nice. Ridiculous that a 1 minute cds is that bad.
