Is it me or arms is just bad? With 376 ilvl I cant pull more than 11.5k on single target. Best talents I can choose, rotation as in guides, good stats and just cant do more. I dont know what i’m doing wrong. Im thinking that arms may be worst spec avaible and I just cant force myself to change spec/class after playing whole legion and bfa with arms. Can I improve anything or this spec is just lost?
Arms scaling with gear is terrible and that’s exactly why it fell from grace. Most dps specs generally scale in one of two ways: They either have amazing scaling with haste which allows to stack the living heck out of it while filling in gaps with complementary bonuses like mastery, crit or vers (ie: dhs, retris and fury wars) or they completely ignore haste while stacking crit and mastery (ie: frost dks and sub rogues).
The problem with Arms is that his scaling with haste is lackluster and even if you fully stack it you’ll still end up having open global cooldowns due to rage issues and bad rng on tactician. On the other hand you can’t go for typical crit/mastery route either because your mastery is completely useless and crit is the hardest stat to stack anyway as it yields massive diminishing returns over 20%. So in the end you’ll end up with stacking crit and haste, same way BM hunter does, and just like BM hunters your scaling with secondary stats is nonexistent - all that matters is trinkets, azerite traits and ilvl of your weapon.
Sadly, unlike BM hunter, warrior doesn’t have insane go to traits that increase his single target dps. Combine this with the fact that arms aoe got nerfed big time and yes - this spec becomes completely unplayable in pve atm.
