I want to provide clear feedback on the current state of Arms Warrior, because right now the spec feels fundamentally broken and unfun to play in both PvE and PvP.
After the recent series of nerfs — including the reductions to overall damage output, and the weakening of key cooldown interactions — Arms has lost almost all of its impact. Every ability feels undertuned, and the spec simply cannot keep up with others in either sustained damage or burst windows.
PvE
Looking at current logs:
- Arms is consistently 20–30% behind other melee DPS specs on both raid bosses and Mythic+ keys of comparable level.
- Even Fury, which historically performs similarly, now outpaces Arms by a wide margin in almost every encounter.
- In practice, my Warrior performs worse than one of my alts with less gear, which is absurd considering the investment.
PvP
The situation in PvP is even worse:
- Arms’ burst windows were gutted, while survivability tools remain limited compared to other melee.
- Mortal Strike — the defining Warrior pressure ability — hits like a wet noodle after the tuning, making the healing reduction effect feel irrelevant when the base damage is so low.
- Other melee classes can reliably secure kills or force cooldowns in short windows; Arms simply cannot. Even with perfect execution, it’s almost impossible to close games, while opponents with less gear and less effort achieve far better results.
This is not just a small tuning problem — it makes the spec effectively unplayable if you want to be competitive or simply have fun. Many long-time Warrior players, myself included, are abandoning the class entirely, which should be a red flag.
Blizzard, please re-evaluate Arms tuning urgently. At the moment, Arms Warriors are left in a state where both PvE and PvP are more frustrating than rewarding.
