New talents look good for unholy but create a caveat.
Raise abomination, at this stage its mandatory for pvp and new talents mean limited use due to too many options
Army of the dead on 8 minutes for both pvo and pve is crappy and not worth an 8 min cd, abomination was and is the perfect answer, I’d suggest that it should actually just become baseline and apocalypse could be compensated with an additional 2 ghouls and we would be in a better spot both pvp and pve.
in practice with the talent army has 4-5min cd in pve, u get 2 armies per boss fight. and in m+ u can use it very freely at the start and still be up every boss
unholy already has a very good steady flow of dmg every min, addind abomination in its currect state is just to replace casting fester for wounds. altho this is very usefull for pressure in pvp in pve is redudant.
i much rather have a strong CD in army at 5min so i can use with lust, at the start and end of a boss or during important nuke phases. which is what unh lacks in its kit
again, in pvp is great as it helps by greatly reducing the use many GCDs in fester, blight/outbreak and keep the pressure on target with SS
thats my issue though i don’t want to be waiting constantly for an 8min cd in pvp… it will be once per game and easily countered, rendering it the mot useless cd in the game pvp wise.
Abom not usless? Its almost the same + he is not hitting the same target as you. He also can be slowed, rooted, stunned and taunted and have no charge. The main reason was in cd 1.5 min, now its 2 min in 9.2 and we’ve got a lot of usefull talents.
Yea, Army this is our biggest cd. Abo is a pvp replacement but it is much weaker and has a lot of problems.
it’s like a paladin in pvp doesn’t use wings, but a weaker replacement.
Imagine a paladin without wings in pvp … but for some reason Unholy has to do without his best army.
The first version of Abo was a real replacement - it was a strong talent, now it is a dead talent after a lot of nerfs.
Currently it can be easily fixed. Since the time of the Legion expansion, in my feedback I write about combining the legendary item (The Instructor’s Fourth Lesson/ https://www.wowhead.com/spell=208713/lesson-of-razuvious).
Such a change would bring Gargo back into PVE and PVP.
In 9.1 it would be a nice combination with the new necrotic wound talent.
In this situation, the additional RP consumption effect for Gargo should be removed, as it is pathetically weak.
Summarizing - both of these skills must be combined (Summon Gargoyle + The Instructor’s Fourth Lesson with the version before the nerf).
U last time played in BFA first season on UDK? Abom was nerfed 3 or 4 times including DMG, attack speed and movement speed, then in SL DK was redesigned to do dmg thru pets apoc and dark transformation and with legy DT is very strong cd. Abom was needed as FW generation to spam NS, and there was no good talent on choice and have low cd, but in 9.1 will be another story. Abom isn’t wings.
I’m not disputing any of the above, my gripe is with the cd in a pvp setting, the biggest advantage of abomination was the setup, I could stun or alow and set him off and he would get a few hits and be back up again in a couple mins.
What I’m saying is there needs to be something to allow me to run the new plays and not be stuck with a stupid long cd on an important cd I can’t access often enough in pvp to be meaningful.
I didn’t write it outright, but I did say that Abo has many weaknesses and that he has been weakened many times. I don’t know if you have a reading problem or want to be mean.
However, if you anticipate a change for the better in 9.1 regarding Abom, forgive me, but since the introduction of many nerfs, no one has too much trouble with it. What’s more, currently, if someone wants to, he simply kills Abo in a few seconds.
and yes, I can compare the Abo to the wings because Abo is a replacement for our strongest CD.
Blizzard even castrated Unholy from it, and it should be as it was introduced in its original form - Raise Abomination, I mean.
I know how Abom works - I have proposed it many times in my feedback. Moreover, I also proposed it to PVE.
I mean yeah abomination is nerfed compared to before but it’s the 8min personal CD which is purely a dps CD.
For pve fine I get it talents mean you can have it every few mins but not in pvp really.
it seems with new pvp talent apoc will became much more usefull, unless they make the healing absorve from wounds only from SS, apoc will burst 4 wounds for instance 4 stacks
then u can do use unholy assault talent before or after apoc to keep pressure up with healing debuffs every 1.5min
still, relying on pet dmg is a no go as they are easily countered.
edit: having said the above, frost still has way more CC, kite, peel and probably remain the go to for pvp
