[A][RP] <The Blue Banners>

Several books and maps lay spread out on his desk before Xeph. They were books about the history of the alliance, records of former generals and military leaders and the corresponding maps.

“In the past,” Xeph wrote in his own book, “nobles of the human royal houses waged war against each other in order to deny each other claims to land. Even among the dwarves and of course the elves these stories were part of the undeniable heritage of their history. In former times,” he continued, "the entire Eastern Kingdoms were in the firm hands of those peoples who today proudly stand in the alliance that had only formed in the course of the wars against the old Horde.

But if you look at the world map today, you might think that those times never existed. Lordaeron in the north is in the firm hands of the undead, apart from those scarlet fanatics who have declared war on the living.
The South is terrorised by demons who have nipped in the bud all hope of rebuilding what was lost in the wars. And here too, the Horde had several bases from which it ordered raiding parties to Elwynn, Westfall and other areas. The will of the Defias to put an end to the House of Wrynn remains unbroken. Meanwhile, in the south of Elwynn, undead are gathering to wipe Duskwood off the map of civilised nations once and for all.

Such is the shape of things wherever you look. In Dun Morogh, trolls maraud, Loch Modan is threatened by ogres and troggs, and wild orc tribes are becoming increasingly brave and are now occupying ancient strongholds of the once great dwarven clans. And above all this, Gnomeregan has still not been reconquered.

At this moment a soldier opened the door to Xephs study. “The soldiers are standing by, Commander. The people yearn for our help.”

Xeph stood up and stretched his hand towards his mage staff, which immediately flew to him.

“And help they shall have!”

The Blue Banners

The Blue Banners are a regiment of the Seventh Legion of the Alliance Army, most commonly known as the King’s Own. During the first war, the Blue Banners were almost completely wiped out in an attempt to stop the invading orc invasion. Resourceful historians and surviving veterans handed down their history and more recently the council of the young King Anduin decided to revive the prestigious regiment and put it to work under new leadership for the glory of the Alliance.

The regiment is designed for a single purpose: to present a variety of threats to all enemies of the Alliance using versatile guerrilla tactics and small combat units, with the aim of reclaiming once lost territories and inflicting severe damage on the enemy, be they part of the Horde, a band of thieves such as the Defias, traitorous mages or marauding ogres. We WILL reclaim Lordaeron, we WILL reconquer the lands of the south and east of Stormwind, we WILL prevent the Defias from bolstering their forces again and we WILL retake Gnomeregan!

What you can expect from us:

We are a pure roleplaying guild, with the goal of having roleplay as our first and only priority to live up to the name of an RP-PVP server. Our server is still comparatively young and our experience has shown us that it is now time to passionately stand up for our idea of good roleplay if we want to revive this way of experiencing the game. This idea is based on lore-oriented game and character concepts, consistent role-playing and a system of rules for fights, which guarantees fun for all participants. Playing easy-D&D in a world of warcraft setting without having to leave your home?! Corona approves.

We will offer role play every week, be it in the most dangerous fights this side of the black portal, in front of the cosy fireplaces of our base or while visiting allies. Characters will develop themselves and sometimes a life of their own if we give them the chance to live through stories and epics together with other players. We offer a community that sees roleplaying not just as an accessory or duty, but as something that many of us have come to appreciate and love over the years: Writing history together.

Ranks
Being a regiment of the Seventh Legion, our ranks are those of the Army. The structure and chain of command is clear and should be respected at all times.

  • Recruit - The rank you are given when you first join the Blue Banners. This rank denotes that you are still in training. Recruits are expected to learn everything they can from their superiors, as that will be vital in their promotion.

  • Soldier - The core body of the Blue Banners and the most common rank of them all. Soldiers are the rank-and-file of the regiment and are those that carry most of the battles. The soldiers are paragons of combat prowess and discipline, ready for any task ahead of them.

  • Corporal - Highly respected rank of veteran soldiers. The corporal have survived many battles and are now trusted enough to lead small contingents of soldiers and recruits.

  • Sergeant - The men and women that train the recruits, teaching them the ropes and leading them into battle. While they are not officers, they are vital in the chain of command. They often lead teams composed of corporals, soldiers and recruits.

  • Captain - The first officer rank of the Blue Banners. Their duty is to lead large contingents of soldiers into battle, giving orders to all ranks below them.

  • Commander - Highly Prestigious rank, being second only to the High Marshal. They lead the army of the Blue Banners in most battles. Only a select few will ever get to attain this rank.

  • High Marshal - Highest rank in the regiment. The High Marshal is above everyone else in the Blue Banners. He is the leader of the order and makes all of the important decisions.

Recruitment

We are currently looking for soldiers of all levels who are enthusiastic about role play and would like to join our cause. Thanks to our rather generous mandate from the Alliance, we can serve many different objectives and areas of operation, so characters of almost all races are welcome (there might be cases that need a second glance, a dark iron dwarf for example)

But to build up a base and providing troops also means that we’ll need to have many different civilian characters aswell! So don’t be afraid to join our military order, even if you don’t want to play as the stereotype-stormwind-guard-guy/gal. We have need for blacksmiths, leatherworkers, doctors, merchants and all other kinds of characters you could see in such an environment.

In case you are interested, or having questions about us, please /w Koldin, Xeph or Galspan ingame

May The Blue Banners fly with the wind and strike fear into the hearts of those that dare to stand in the way of the Alliance’s birthright.

The Alliance Free Company supports your goals in rooting out evils residing within our own Kingdoms, as well as reclaiming the territories we once had.

Sincerely yours, Watchmaster Caitlyn Cutteridge of the Alliance Free Company.

Another force of the Alliance assembles? News of this will not go down in the Horde Capital… we must muster our troops to defend the balance of Azeroth.

Be warned, we take no prisoners.
