A-RP - The festival of Strength - Bul’ghaz Khara’kaz! 24-26th of May
Posters of a festival have been plastered over both notice boards and tavern walls in around the kingdoms of the Alliance. An invitation to all the peoples under the blue banners:

The time has come yet again for dwarven-kin to show the world its strength through deeds. Yet the world has changed, the clans are united under the mountain and dragons are found walking among us. In this world that is changing, what better way to greet this uncertain future than to prove you have the strength it takes to meet it? By gathering of the mountain, we invite you now to Kharanos on the 24th - 26nd May, a dedicated festival for the strong and mighty people of the Alliance!
Once, this festival was for kin and clan only. Reserved only for those deemed worthy of its proving, now - it will be found open to all fit to test their might! Challenges for the strong and mighty, those willing to test their worth! Reverly for those willing to drink, eat and join in cheer and merriment! Entertainment, with music and dance for those merely there to share in the glory!

Hello AD! We welcome you all of blue banners to join us Dwarven-kin for revelry and cheer on the 4th weekend of May!
24th - 26nd May 2024. Venue: Kharanos, Dun Morogh Start Times (Each Day): 19:00 RT
Welcome one and all! To this public dwarven themed event around a festival of strength!
This takes the form of challenges each day, each challenge acting as a chance to participate in the mountain brawl on the last day. All for the chance for some IC prizes, and the coveted title of “Lifter of mountains” - “Borkaz In Modan”
Sign up for these events will be done on location, in hope that as many as possible have the chance to prove their might! More info over each challenge can be found lower down in the post. Each challenge will have a total of 3 winners that have a chance to participate on the final day (Sunday).
During the event, casual activities, food stalls and more will be found across the venue. Sign ups will be done by in-game attendance. Of course, cheering on both friends and comrades is highly encouraged! If you have interest in partaking with a stall of selling delicious foods or beverages? Contact the OP (In game name Coalsmith) And we can see what we can accommodate! More info over who will host games and stalls will be added during the time until the event.
Sadly, to all those of horde affiliated neutral standing, this is primarily an Alliance only event, please respect the nature and spirit of the event. Should your character be affiliated with Alliance-aligned neutrality (Kirin tor for ex.) then of course the possibility for you to show is there.
So we hope you can respect the intent of the event, as we hope to have the schedule run smoothly with little to no disturbances. And having IC debacles having to be sorted will probably slow down the event. I truly thank you all in advance for the understanding!
Games, dance and revelry! (All days)
During all three days, we will have a myriad of stalls for food, bards and entertainment available to those not participating! This will be dependent on days and availability of folks willing to have their craft shared. As mentioned earlier, if you are interested in sharing your craft of music, food or drinks Contact the OP (In game name Coalsmith) and we can check what we can make together!
Festival feast (22:30 Sunday - 26th)
After all efforts, strength spent and winners given their due. A feast will be held into the night, with drinks, food and merriment to spare! Where both drinking games and fun activities are planned, ones that don’t require sign ups nor strength. This is purely for revelry and fun! The feast will be held around the tavern in Kharanos. If you have interest in playing songs, or have a bard looking for a stage to play their tunes? Contact the OP (In game name Coalsmith) And we can see what we can accommodate!

Challenges (All days)
“The main events, the challenges of strength! Grounded in the old ways of Dwarven kin, each day is themed around both Clan and traditions. Now open to the other peoples and folks of the alliance, do you have what it takes to prove your worth?”
The challenges are strength and physical prowess focused, each game will have some rules for rolls and engagement. Each challenge has a tab below where all the rules and details are written out beforehand. The rules will also be presented of course IC - as well as OOC when participating.
Sign-ups, as mentioned previously will be made on location, and the challenges will run for a set amount of time. We will attempt to adjust to the amount of sign-ups, so that as many as possible have a chance to prove their worth! In each of the challenges, the results of ALL rolls will be used to gauge who the winners are of each specific challenge (see the challenges below for specifics).
Each “challenge” will have 3 winners, each winner will be eligible for the final day’s penultimate challenge. However, winning multiple tests will still only merit you to “one” spot. Each test will therefore have unique champions ready to fight for the title of “Lifter of Mountains”
And in the situation of people not being there for their brawl-spot, the reserved spot will move over towards the waitlist (Going off the list of people that had performed the best after the top 3) Wait time will be had for people, reach out during each day and we will see what we can accommodate.
Rules of the Challenge signups
You can only take a challenge once.
You can participate in ALL 5 qualifying challenges, but you can only “win” or become a finalist through one. You are free to partake in all qualifying challenges still, it will just not grant “more” chances for the finals.
Judges will be there to help keep track of rolls and results,
If time allows, and the attendance is poor - people have the chance to partake in the challenge once more (Only if there is low amount of participation - check during the event for details)

Friday 24th - Algaz’ Al-Modan - Mountains path / Rock-race
“Since ancient times, when our kin were of rock and stone. We sought the mountain’s strength to help carry ourselves onto higher peaks! This old rite of proving strength, whether it be among family or clansman, or that of kin or friends. To prove one’s strength, carrying the burden of mountains, would be enough to sing songs in our great halls!”

Rolls: /roll (/roll 100) Roll system: Thresholds Extra: 1 = Dropping the rock / 100 = Instant win
Details:
Algaz’ Al-Modan - “Mountains path” … the Rock race! Is a typical race, but with a twist!
The way it will work is that 6 players will be competing against each other, picking up a rock as they prepare to roll.
/roll 100 will be used, where raid markers will act as “distances” traveled, and roll results will dictate how far you manage to carry your rock.
Rolling a 1 will result in you dropping your rock, resulting in a loss. Rolling a 100 will result in an instant win from you, allowing a bit of freedom and flex in your emote.
The thresholds are as follows:
Friday 24th - Krumdul'Ganbar - Boulder Smash
“What better way to prove ones strength, then to crack the very rock and stone?

Rolls: /roll 20 Roll system: Deathroll
Details:
Participants will each receive a hammer, and a pile of rocks, they are asked to smash as many rocks during the timer as you can.
It will be using a deathroll of /Roll 20 system, using this as your characters stamina, where each roll done is a smashed rock. “Deathroll” is a name for when you roll, and then use the result of that roll as the “base” for the next roll.(Ex. /roll 20 = 14, new roll for next round is /roll 14. All the way down to 1)
The goal as said is to crush and smash as many rocks before you tire out. You tire out when you hit a result of 1. Multiple people will perform the challenge at the same time (2-3 people), but the results of the “total” amount will be counted towards everyone participating.
In other words, winners will be measured by how many rocks crushed in total by all participants.
Saturday 25th - Krum'Haldar - Rock hold
“A game in which its lineage predates the elder days of Northeron, and to the lost clans of the Wildhammer. A hard life bred hard folk and this particular challenge was testament to that fact. You had to have had great endurance, perseverance and strength, that once gave rise to the mightiest children the highlands had ever seen. Over time the game was twisted and mellowed, variants like ‘Pink Belly’ grew and ultimately caused the original game to fade from memory. That is until today. So challenger, can you bear the weight of the mountain on your shoulders?”

Rolls: /roll 100 Roll system: Roll vs Roll (Brawl rules) HP system: 3 HP Extra: 1= Instant loss (regardless of total HP)
Details:
Participants are asked to pick up a rock and hoist it over their heads. Holding it above their head while enduring the open public invite to “punch” the rock holder’s gut. The goal being to stand the longest, before dropping your rock.
This challenge is formatted like the old classic game of “Pink-belly” for those who recall it. Rock-holders have 3 hp, where they must roll against the public who are free to walk up and punch. Simple duel systems, where both sides roll a /roll 100 and the highest one wins. If the rock-holder wins, they hold the rock for more punches, if they lose, they lose 1 hp.
Rolling a 95+ as a puncher will cause the holder to immediately drop their boulder. Regardless of HP remaining.
Rock holders drop their rock when they hit 0. How many punches the rock-holder survives is what counts towards the winner. This will be counted against all who participate, crowning the winner after all of those who wanted have taken the challenge.
Saturday 25th - Krum'Rollhaz - Rock toss
“A classic by all clans, tossing of rocks in proving one’s might. Easy way to flex one’s might, or fall terribly flat. Known by its dwarven name: Krum’Rollhaz, a test even fit for beardling. Often used as a strength exercise up in the highlands by the Wildhammer clans of old. So what do you say, ready to toss a boulder?”

Rolls: /roll 20 Roll system: Multiple rolls (x3) Extra: 1 = Dropping the boulder
Details:
In this challenge, participants are asked to pick up a rock and toss it as FAR as they can! Measuring distance through the number of each roll, all added up for a total.
Using a three roll system of /roll 20, each roll counts for a stage in the toss.
Although rolling 1, at any point; WILL result in dropping the rock. Regardless of it being the first, second or last roll, you WILL drop the boulder if a single roll of the three is a 1.
Saturday 25th - Kargan’Thurul - Hammer throw
“What is more iconic for a Wildhammer than that of the Stormhammer? To wield the very storms through the craft of the mountains, to earn the honor of wielding one, kin had to prove themselves worthy of its strength. One such old challenge was Kargan’Thurul, “The hammer throw”! In honor of that ancient test, we now will see you test your might in throw and strength!Do you have the strength to wield the hammers of storms?”

Rolls: /roll 20 Roll system: Multiple rolls (x3) Extra: 1 = Miss, 20 = Bullseye
Details:
The hammer-thrower will have 3 rolls of /roll 20, each roll being a throw of one of these hammers.The goal of this challenge is to hit the target, earning more “points” depending on how precise the throws are. (This judged by the higher roll results)
If one rolls below 10, it is a near miss. Anything above 10 is a hit. Where 1 is a total miss, and 20 is a bullseye on the tree.
Winners for the challenge will as said be judged on how “close” most hammers were
Sunday 26th - Kunvar’garakaz - Anvil breaker
“To honor tradition we must break it; in the clouded dark iron past this test was to harden the mightiest of fighters, warriors and crafters. By breaking one of the foundations of dwarven history, the anvil - it could be reforged stronger. As such the body could be made stronger, through toil, strength and broken Iron. This is Kunvar’garakaz - Anvil breaker.”

NB. This challenge only the finalists from the previous challenges are allowed to sign up. This will act as a penultimate challenge to the whole festival.
Rolls: /roll 20 Roll system: Deathroll
Details:
The rules are as such: a deathroll of /Roll 20 will be used to gauge your stamina, each roll is a swing to break the anvil. Deathroll is when you roll, and then use the result of that roll as the “base” for the next roll. (Ex. /roll 20 = 14, new roll for next round is /roll 14. All the way down to 1)
The goal is to swing the least amount of times to break the anvil, counted through the amount of rolls done by each player.
In other words, winners will be measured by the least amount of swings needed to break their anvil.
Only the 4 highest will be the ones to be able to continue to the Mountain brawl.
Sunday 26th - Tharrnak il Modin - Mountain brawl
“The old way to settle the means of one’s strength, a brawl under the shadow of the mountains, the ultimate test of one’s strength is to defeat your equal. Often a classic between clans, especially by Dark irons, finding that squabbles best be settled by that of fist … or dagger in the back. Although now we find ourselves among champions, and so we shall see who is worthy of lifting the very mountains! Enter - Tharrnak il Modin!”

NB. We “might” change the amount of eligble fighters in the brawls depending on the sign ups, we will let you know ASAP the status on this.
This brawl will use standard Brawl/duel rules, but adding in the choice of a stance.Check below for details on each stance.
It all leads to the shadow of the mountain, here in the final brawls we shall see who stands to earn the title of “Borkaz In Modan”!
The brawl will use fighting stances to enable more flavor to the final brawl.
Beyond that it will be standard roll battle rules, where opponents take turns on rolling for initiative, attack and defense. Where the brawl starts with a classic /roll to see who swings the first blow, going off the highest of the two brawlers rolls. Each participant has a HP number. (See below the stances for what HP number you have)
Thereafter there is a flow of roll for attack, and the other for defense. The brawl ends when an opponent is down to 0 HP.
In the situation of both brawlers rolling equal or a draw, then both brawlers receive 1HP loss. This also applies in the case of both brawlers having 0HP, then both will be downed at the same time. Equalling a draw in the brawl.
Below you find the stances, choose one that fits the way you will fight during the brawls.

As nice as the example given is, it does not quite show what ‘alliance-aligned neutrality’ is. Is the Argent Crusade Alliance-aligned? And if it isn’t, what if my Character itself is?
Also, I think you meant anything above 10? ^^

And indeed, it’s flexible; neutrality is a tricky subject. I merely put it there to use as an example of at least not showing up as for instance, a pirate. Hoping to be given “Free passage” under the guise of neutrality.
IE. If it makes sense, then sure. The event will accommodate. Simply respect that it’s in Dwarven lands, and under the Alliance banners.

The event looks great, wonderful to see a dwarf themed celebration! Morgrim/Coalsmith is such a pleasant person to talk with, and there’s clearly a lot of passion poured into this, I warmly encourage everyone to attend!

Do not be fooled by all the typical type of Dwarven stuff that will take place in this event, for folks who are less likely to participate in feats of strentgh and perhaps see no need to participate in physical exercise of binge drinking, us more sophisticated Dwarves will be around as well, for good conversation, and drinking the finest of wines.

I have made some updates to both some texts, minor errors and typos.
I have also adjusted the schedule for the event, Saturday mostly to accommodate more revelry in between the major planned activites. Dances will now act as fun breaks between some of the challenges on saturday!
I will keep updates posted until the event starts on the 24th May, in the week a poster will be posted as well. Both here and on Discord, stay tuned!
