Arthas my son

the high elf kingdom of quel’thalas was once a power house. What you see now as blood elves is merely a fraction of what it used to be. Arthas directly resulted in all those deaths and more.

Why is it necessary to redeem every villain?..I want my villains to be villainous, stories need villains.
Lore masters can analyse where it all went wrong and remind people the villain was a good kid, who went off the rails.
My job however, is to fill the villain full of arrows, then burn the corpse to dust and smash any phylactery…so it cannot be raised again.

This entire zone of bastion must be purged.

So what about Thrall? Couldn’t fight Garrosh 1v1in combat even though Thrall was brought up a gladiator by Blackmore, had to bend the elements to his well and force them to do his bidding yet still the “good guy” :stuck_out_tongue:

Didn’t kill enough if 65% of horde are now elves. Hmmm

Simp.

we found garrosh’s cloning machine and by sacrificing countless humans to it we fixed our numbers …

I find it interesting that people want Arthas redeemed but when it comes to Sylvanas everyone raises their pitchforks.

Oh how the bias works.

Just because Arthas was a cool character doesn’t make him any less evil, sorry.

He was a bastard even if his intentions were good at the beginning.

What Uther and Devos did was wrong, he deserved some form of trial. “Father, is it over?” implies that he had chances to attone for his sins.

We will see him again, most likely.

i’d love for him to stand trial only to be judged irredeemable and tossed right back in

Both should have been left dead at the end of WotLK imo. Every good story has an introduction, climax and resolution. Keeping everything open ended is just bad storytelling.

Okay, here’s my prediction. I’m definitely seeing parallels between Arthas and Sylbaenas. I think Arthas in his time in The Maw had time to reflect on what he’s done. After all - the same was done to him, by Uther. Casting him into the Maw is the same act of spiteful vengeance as Arthas raising Sylvanas as a banshee. In fact, I think the Afterlives animation doubles down on the spiteful part, by having both Uther and Devos be spiteful in their actions. Uther against Arthas and Devos against her superiors. This is Blizzard reinforcing that idea.

And Arthas with his actions set in motion everything that is currently going on. I’m pretty sure he’ll reflect and realize what he did and will probably be by Sylvanas’ side. Nothing romantic or any of that, bleh. But he’ll have realized how wrong he was, how he must atone and also… how right he is at the same time. And how right Sylvanas is.

Agree. Devos certainly pushed her own agenda here after her run-in with the Arbiter. She did manipulate Uther’s emotions towards Arthas IMHO to convince him to act this way.

I was surprised that Devos had so much emotion in this whole thing considering her position. I thought they had to be highly objective in their thinking.

Meh her own sisters want her dead… lol

I think the denizens of Shadowlands are truly terrified of the Maw and its powers. Seeing a power derived straight from its forges free into the world must have driven her mad.

Not to mention that the whole Kyrian path was wrong and they were literally brain washing people into oblivion without actually listening to their stories.

I have a hard time taking any of them seriously, especially Alleria.

Void elf mains are probably the only ones that take her seriously.

Loving Arthas is the most cringe you can be in this game, but I know all the fanboys will re-sub just to see Arthu’s redemption story

I was wondering when Blizzard would trash the Arthas storyline too.

Wonder who they’re going to trash the expansion after Shadowlands, since they either took a dump on all their major characters or killed them off.

Let me guess, Uther will see the error of his ways, fold to nostalgia and save Arthas from the Maw, and they will be WoW’s second gay couple. I’m saying second because Anduin and Wrathion are gonna be cave diving in each other pretty soon.

World of SJW.

At least this seals the deal for me, there’s no way I’l ever try a Blizzard product again after they take a dump on the last good storyline.

but you have your beloved Classic! what happens in retail you should be no concern of yours

I will let me sub pass just so i can resub for Arthas <3

Why did he do it? He wanted to save the People from the Plague and Mal’Ganis that was using Shadowlands powers.
