So. I was wondering if I had 2 rogues, call them Rogue A and Rogue B. Lets say I did the mage tower challenge on Rogue A in legion but I didn’t do the requirements for the tints. Rogue B is on the other faction and is what I am currently playing with most gear. Can I unlock the tints on it by doing the requirements for it on Rogue B. While I can transmog the challenge appearance on my weapon I cannot see it on the artifact altar. Thank you for any help.
No, you can’t.
Artifact transmogs are account wide but the appearances in the forge are character specific. And in order to unlock additional colors you need to have the base on unlocked on that character.

I got the feral appearance on my druid, do I have to play feral to unlock its tints?
Also, I want to get the Guardian balance of power mog, do I have to play guardian to unlock it? What about that one’s tints?
No, you can play any spec. The only condition is to do the requirements after unlocking the base tint.
You don’t have to play the Guardian. The questline unlocks the base color for each spec for your class. So it doesn’t matter. But you need to equip your artifact at the very end to siphon the powers. And you can play any spec to unlock other tints. Two of them are completly account wide and work for all classes so you have to do them only once: Glory of Legion Hero and This Side Up(Archeology achievement).
