Artifacts on screen

Hello,

I’m getting some very strange artifacts in game, so far in Ohn’ahran Plains. It started happening a few days ago in Nokhud Offensive for the first time then it continued to happen in the open world as well. I have purchased a new monitor LG GP850-B recently and at first I suspected to be the monitor and today while the artifacts started to happen I switched over to my laptop’s screen and guess what, the artifacts continued to happen, so monitor issue is excluded. Drivers were recently(1 week) installed using DDU. Cable issue is out of discussion since it happens on laptop screen as well. Temps are ok, 76 degrees in full load GPU, around 75 on CPU so that is out of discussion also.

RTX 2080 current driver version 472.12.
16 GB RAM
SSD, HDD

In this video, it is mostly happening around the minimap, a blue flicker artifact and also a black flicker artifacts on the map after I open it. Timestamps 1:15, 2:11, 4:00, 5:45 ( top right corner , small blue artifacts flickers)

Since this is concerning me, I would like to find out if this is a WoW problem since it has been reported before or my graphics card might be giving me signs of failure.Preformatted text

Do you have g-sync on? It happens to me with it on and it was like that in Sl too.

At the time of recording the artifacts above, GSYNC was off and refresh rate was at 165 instead of the overclocked 180 of the monitor

Not sure if it’s related to the DX12 flickering then, with latest Nvidia drivers.

We have seen a lot of rather odd issues crop up with the most recent Nvidia drivers in various games (WoW very much included), so my first suggestion here would be to try an older driver variant (v526.98 or earlier) and see if that makes any difference at all.

If that doesn’t do the trick: there isn’t much else that can be reasonably suggested without taking a look at the MSINFO/DXDIAG for the laptop, so that’d be the next step. :slight_smile:

As I mentioned in the original post, my current driver is 472.12 , so it’s old enough.

Probably driver issue / game issue the texture corruption is pretty common the first one i know can be triggered by rtss but i could be wrong, just add wow executeable to rtss and set detection to none

Flickering issues i still remember from BFA launch even when i still had a gtx 1080 and then during shadowlands, i guess Nvidia never fixed it and just put a bandaid on it again which they probably will do again this time if they gonna fix it at all.
