As a healer, I tried to simply try out the standard interface and party frames.
I’ll start by describing my problems from the perspective of a healer who’s never used the standard interface.
I enabled the standard party and raid frames for the first time and realized that they don’t work when playing solo. Visually, all that’s left is the standard “me” frame with my portrait, name, hp, mp.
So when I am in a group, I have duplicates - standard “me” frame AND “Me” in Party frames. These frames must be located in different places, as they do not replace each other.
In my healing addon (Vuhdo), the “me” frame always appears where my party frames would be, whether I’m in a party or playing solo. How to simulate this behavior in the standard interface?
I tried setting up Click Casting, and it’s causing the following problems:
When I try to bind such an important spell as DISPEL from a friendly target (Purify), a red message appears saying “Not available for Click Cast Binding”.
But when I do the same with Dispel Magic (purge from enemy), there are no such restrictions. What’s the difference? This behavior is not for a healer.
Debuffs. How can I make debuffs more visible? That tiny blue translucent debuff dot is hard to see. It’s a microscopic dot that can easily go unnoticed when you have a whole raid of players.
And for now the last problem (for now), which is connected with all the above:
My addon has a feature that disables the use of binds if the cursor isn’t within party frames. This means I can bind right-click to Flash Heal, for example.
So… I did not find such a feature in the standard interface options, aaaand standard party frame disappears when I’m soloing, and the frame with the character’s portrait remains.
So, not only do I have to heal myself in a different frame which is located somewhere else, but right-click now uses Flash Heal on ALL frames, including the target’s, which means I cannot access the Context menu anymore.
Report target? - Nope, Flash Heal them.
Want to change the loot or dungeon difficulty? - Flash Heal yourself.
Please help me understand the standard interface.
