I can remember the last time I won one. Maybe 2 expansions ago, or 1 expansion ago I’m not sure. I remember the win though, somehow our team decided to use chat for coordination and nobody said “you’re talking in chat, no wonder we’re losing, cry more”
It was incredible, all the hard work and coordination got us the win by a whisker. It always feels like the alliance have a 50% haste buff and a 200% hp buff at all times lately. But I remember that win, it was a good day.
But i don’t play epic bg, it’s the worst form of pvp (for me)
I don’t understand the horde players btw. For many years, every single horde player says we always losing bgs. Even before the game start they say “another lose”… wth?
Here is my stats (only random bg and a very few epic for the quest):
this month: 31 win / 25 lose = 55% win
last few years (lost my addon data at a point): 1780 win / 988 lose = 64% win
And i don’t hard carry games or anything like that, i joining random bg’s for fun. Sometimes i don’t even do objectives, etc.
naa get outta town there’s no way you actually won a BG as horde. Did you use merc mode?
I don’t believe you at all, every game since I came back has been a very quick and brutal loss. I can’t carry a team of 39 people. I’m just a warlock, I can’t even outlive a warrior training me. They heal way too much.
I can’t even use chat to say “LM!!” or “Stop fighting mid we need EFC!” without people getting offended and giving me hell for it.
Nope, i don’t use merc (last time I joined as mercenary was in DF S1 first week to get honor gear fast)
You don’t have to believe me, i don’t really care. I just answered your question honestly.
I also said, i don’t play epic bg, only 10/15 man normal random bg. However I mostly join with a group of 2-3 friends to have fun or help them get honor gear on fresh alts, otherwise i queue Blitz instead.
I suggest you install “Reflex” and check out your win/loss ratio after a few weeks. You may be surprised (easier to remember when you lose games and forget about the wins)
In wotlk I got so annoyed by losing so much on horde i decided to lvl my first alli. Only to discover that Alli loses just as much. Currently i’m enjoying bg’s on horde way more than on Alli. People are more social, talk more tacts before start and cry less when losing. Many times on horde we come back from being behind. When Alli is behind they just give up and start crying somewhere in a corner. So far for me the Horde bg experience has been great compared to mediocre experience on Alli side.
I won a couple of epic BGs this week on my Orc Monk. I don’t really like to zerg though, I usually just contest some flags for fun and disrupt sidr objectives. In big battles everything is laggy and I don’t feel like I can control the outcome, so I avoid them. This way I also always have fun usually regardless of outcome
No problems winning without friends either. I win so much in epic bgs because I coordinate my team with strategy calls, not because of the one or two companions I bring along that only make up 5-10% of the team in an epic bg. Whether you have an epic bg where you have yourself, 1 friend and 38 randoms, or just yourself and 39 randoms hardly makes a difference.
The truth is most players have a very poor understanding of which objectives actually matter in epic bgs. You see them fighting at points with no strategic importance, such as in front of the alliance keep in isle of conquest, while glaives are destroying their gate within minutes and nobody stops them. Tell them clearly what needs to be done and you might be able to reach a critical mass of players who follow you and take the objective that matters.
Same. Blitz is just the superior version of random bg. MMR ensures you get players on your level. The rulesets, capture times, and point formulas in blitz are also better than the classic version of each map. If I have a group of more than 2, I prefer epic bgs over random bgs, as random bgs are too easy to win in a group of 3-5.
