As a tank I now leave at the first sign of abuse

I’m not going to put up with it anymore in pugs. It happened again today in Plaguefall. Halfway through somehow a mob was pulled on the side that I didn’t see, and even though we didn’t wipe some dps started spouting “wtf is this tank, gives me cancer”. You know what I did? I hearthed right in the middle of the dungeon and found a new group within a minute. Enjoy your failed key and spending time looking for a new group. I don’t care if they wait until before the last boss to start being toxic, I will hearth immediately and let you deal with it. I hope all other tanks start doing the same when big mouth dps start to nag, it’s not going to be tolerated anymore.

A lot of tanks do what you do, and I don’t blame them.
If someone in a group is being difficult to work with their actions have consequences.

That’s the way to go about it tbh.
Teach them that being a pottymouthed, spoiled little brat has consequences.

Depends on circumstances. Sure, toxicity = insta leave and be done with it. Nobody will fault you for it(well…maybe almost nobody…sour toxec boys).

Unfortunately the term “toxicity” and “abuse” can get very very blurry sometimes. And for some peps…even as much as suggesting something different or some minor but polite civilized criticism = personal attack. U are toxec! and etc.

Had a scenario before key got inserted:
Me: Heya tank. I know you got a route but perhaps we can try going group X first then we will have dps cds ready, no?
Tank: OMGZ I am tank. I am not stuped. U toxec! /ragequit

I’m sure the rest of the party that just invested time in the key, will be very happy at your decision to bail them.
but who cares, you’ll fined another pug in a minute right?

Well, i agree with OP.
Maybe it’s a wakeup call to Blizzard to tune some things on the heal/tank role ends.
I heal and tank exclusively, and just today switched roles for the first time ever while levelling my DK/Mage to use rested bonus xp and queued as DPS. My god is it lame, you contribute nothing but damage. If you’re nasty enough to give tank or heal a hard time you have it coming.

Totally agree with you. However, there are tanks that also do this to dps that don’t perform as high as they expect them to perform, despite a dungeon going smoothly and on time.

So toxic tanks get a new group in 1 minute anyway, whereas toxic dps don’t. Just saying.

Yep goes both ways. Been on all three sides. Certainly not just a ‘DPS’ issue.

Heck in my youth I was trout sniffer sometimes.

Thank you!! I did the exact same thing in the exact same dungeon!!

Just try to respect the keyholder. If they are not the ones being toxic or are related to the person who is, just ignore and move on. If a keyholder isn’t happy, that’s a different thing and you are free to leave of course.

yes well i got an example of a loudmouth tank kicking your new dps alt from a hc dungeon
may i ask whats the point of kicking a dps because he dont like your talent setup?
it is a heroic dungeon not a m+

so what is he supposed to do? endure the abuse and reward them for it with finishing the dungeon? genuinely curious.

This is why as much as Dungeons -can- be fun, Blizzard should never gate things like unlocking races, or flying, or campaign advancement behind them. Never, never never…

Anything of that nature should be able to be achieved on your own merit, not at the whim of whether your Tank, or Healer or DPS are having a bad day and ragequit.

This said, I completely agree with the OP. If everyone else in the group is civil just call it as it is, “Look, I’m fed up with them being a douche, they get kicked, or I quit” That way you’re giving fair warning to people, but stick to your guns, if the offending person is all like “Sorry Tank, I’ll behave, sorry” fair enough. But no Second Warning. . If they do it again, just Quit, and damnation take them!

Take some consolation in the fact that these raging screechers in dungeons are probably at both the shallow end of the gene pool, but also the younger bracket of the age demographic. They may have gotten infuriated enough to swear out loud in a squawking tirade, in which case it is entirely possible their parents will send them to bed without any supper. (They always make me think of that clip, the German kid who gets so cross and screaming at his computer because a game isn’t going their way that he actually starts kicking seven bells out of it! That’s what Dungeon and Raid angry kids always remind me of  )

I mean that’s been part of games since forever. Grow a spine and tell them to gtfo and carry on doing the dung… No need to be a :snowflake: about it. Tell them how it is.

Leaving mid key actually makes you the biggest snowman ever and are exactly the issue with m+. Cancerous snowflakes needing a safe space…jolly jee good ridense

man, glad you don´t play competitive games.

I understand though and those people deserve to die without a tank or healer. man dps be like “heal meh” and healer be like “get out of the fire and use heal pot.” never! healer runs out of mana and party dies dammit healer! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Either the world’s best rock band name, or the world’s most unfortunately named breakfast cereal…

But nah, no reason people should tolerate angry kids being little rage beasts, inconvenience them. Get them mad, make them angry. The irony of the whole insult ‘Snowflake’ (Apart from people entirely missing the point of how it is used) is that it is the people who use it, who tend to be the ones who need their feelings protected, whereas everyone else is like “Nah, you’re being a douche, to hell with your Key, get mad kiddo, and next time, maybe try being a decent human being and growing a pair…”

I would probably first try to find out who pulled, then decide what to do. There is one person who is a dummy, and then there are 3 people who might not be, who would just be victims of that one dummy. I don’t want to ruin everyone’s experience because of one dummy without trying a little bit. I would explain the situation clearly and if nobody believes me, then I’m done for keys today and tomorrow. I can’t mentally tolerate such nonsense for long.
What I hate the most is people blaming me for something I didn’t do, and nobody believing my word. It’s really horrible situation to be in.

well you can also have fun whit the toxic people, specialy if it is their key, eighter troll them whit realy silly comments, that is totaly unrelated to the problem they have, note though never swear at them or anything just stopid comments, like omg look at that flower, or the did you know a banana is yellow, it can become realy hilarious.

other thing to do, is to make sure the toxic person gets aggor a lot, only him none else, or if healer, dont heal him at all, let him die, and if he goes crazy just tell them, nope I wont tank or heal a mob you attack as long as you act like that.

they eighter rage quit, or start to behave, some might come this forum whit some emo post though.
