As a Zandalari Follower of Bwonsamdi, what are my options?

As I got my Death Knight to max level, I started to wonder what my actual options are when it comes to Roleplaying with him.

I decided he’d be one of Bwonsamdi’s guys, who gets his power by bringing him souls of the dead. However I am not sure if this is a situational character, or if it is viable for being in guilds.

What can be advised here?

From what I have seen, a zandalari DK follower of bwonsamdi is a very popular concept right now.

There might be enough of you to gather a guild, but even if not, you will have zero issues to find others to coordinate your character and share ideas with.

I’ll simply list some words:

Zealot
Hermit
Harbinger
Soul collector
Avenger of souls
Bargainer

Hope these give you some ideas.

Personally I’d go with two options but equally serve the same purpose.

You an either be some dude risen by Bwonsamdi to do his work like collecting souls or whatever (we have seen undead being risen to fight for him and spirits being sent out to deal with some necromancy in Nazmir).

Or you can be a prelate of Bwonsamdi. It is implied a prelate’s power comes from the top Loa out of the lot, not just one Loa. So with Bwonsamdi being the main Loa in Zandalar, perhaps a new breed of prelates shall rise - the type that can use death magic or w/e you’d call Bwonsamdi’s power.

It’d be neat with Shadowlands on the horizon to see a collective of characters devoted top preserving the balance of life and death - adherents of Bwonsamdi, for sure, but also members of other races who want to ensure that the afterlife is maintained and souls get where they need to go - and stay there!

He hates the undead, but he makes undead fight for him
 Oh yeah this is big brain time.

I guess he sees different kinds of “Undead”. The kind that are manifestations with some kind of soul in them, and the kind that are mindless and will fall apart after a while.

Although truth be told even I am not sure what his deal is exactly. Either it’s him having double standards or the undead he brings up are the kind that are temporary and work akin to someone conjuring up a weapon to throw at 'em, only for it to dissipate afterwards.

From looking at the spirits in Nazmir and the undead in Dazar’alor, both moments served a purpose. The spirits were out and about to stop their son from doing necromancy and the undead were out and about only to defend Dazar’alor.

But just like the spirits, I bet if the undead serve their purpose, they go back to being dead.

This is why I prefer people not roleplaying trolls risen by Bwonsamdi to do his bidding. I’m fine with the concept really, but when you see all these people roleplaying the same concept, it kind of contradicts Bwonsamdi being a fan of ‘balance’ when he has all these undead dudes roaming around the world ‘collecting souls.’

But ahh well, that is something I can’t control and take on the chin instead - even recruit them too. wink, wink, nudge, nudge

I had similar impressions, thought they were more leaning on the line of “They’re temporarily there akin to a weapon and then go poof after they’re done”

“Not a DK IC” :stuck_out_tongue:
