Blizzard really need to invent the wheel new. it cant be that lv 80 feels worse than 70 and we start from new every expansion.
season for decent stat gear starts in 3-4 weeks. i am stuck now with less than 6% haste when i had more then 40 becoore this launch. A “class” should have baseline stats so that we can play it at a decent level without waiting 2+ seconds for a cast or 5sec for energy regeneration. (btw thats why people abuse lv 70 delvs farm and dont level their chars for the bran renown)
I dont like that and wow feels the WORST in the beginning of an expansion which is kinda dumb.

In my opinion scaling has done nothing good for the game, it messes with so many things and completely ruin the power fantasy of leveling up and growing stronger.

They shouldn’t have been adding new levels.
Keep max a 60, reset everyone down to 50 once the expansion drops.
The new expansions already comes with level scaling so they have much less work to do fixing some stuff in the last expansion on the resets than to have to fix all expansions because the scaling is broken at last max-level+10.

ye the haste feels really bad. going from 30-40 to less then 10% is really a big deal.
it feels like you are playing with 500 MS

WoW scaling is errr… interesting at the best of times.
It used to be that when you ventured into a new expansion that you felt weak and then you leveled up and geared up and eventually you felt strong.
Now with Pre-Patch gear far out-stripping any available gear in a new expansion and level scaling toning down any challenge you only get weaker and weaker as you level. Until endgame when you can eventually gain power and at some stage possibly surpass your previous strength.
The first time I noticed this was in Legion. My rogue dinged 110 whilst out questing and all of a sudden the mobs I had been killing well enough started smashing me. I had to go find some max level gear and return to the story later.
Felt really bad.
So this removes the joy of venturing into a new expansion and getting awesome new gear immediately.
And it removes the joy of dinging max level as you feel so weak.
How do we undo this? I don’t know.
I’d like to slow down the gear treadmill, or have short bursts of gearing followed by some time of using that gear before it’s replaced again.
Perhaps we need to make Pre-Patch catch up gear be closer to what you get questing in a new expansion rather than it being so much better that you aren’t replacing it almost until you reach max level again.
We need to reduce the item level spread of an expansion. We went from like 280ish when we dinged max level in DF up to like 540 or something (I never reached the heights so maybe off somewhat). At this rate we’ll be over item level 1000 in TWW.
Meh, I don’t know the solutions. Anything done to reduce item level creep and slow down the gear treadmill will face opposition for those players who enjoy constantly gearing and any content that isn’t rewarding better gear is a waste of time.

Yeah the scaling is off the charts to say the least. I was leveling one of my alts, Hellfire Ramparts dungeon popped in, we had some low levels there, I was playing Veng DH, was almost lvl 70 and had like 290k+ hp.
The random non elite dogs were biting me for 990k dmg with their basic attacks, the end boss’ breath did 1.8mil.
The random low levels were 3 tapping mobs and melted bosses.
Same stuff in TWW dungeons. lvl 70 tank obliterates everything while others doing scratch damage, even in relatively good (560+) gear.
mah gawd comment like this are so tiresome, ppl dident pay 40 bucks for EA. EA was just a SMALL bonus to the most expensive pack.

if you don’t value cosmetics, EA costs 27€

It always feels bad for us to get weaker. I was so strong at 70 now I’m 80 not so much.
Am hoping when we can gear in heroic it will feel better and we will be away from all the crazy scaled levellers.

Scaling, scaling never changes.
For leveling through ‘abandoned’ content great for a problem they created.
For current content: Mostly has downsides.
No matter what game introduces it. You lose a lot of power progression.

i dont have such problems. i m still 70.
30 days gametime, char boost to 70…huh, that’s already more than 27 bucks.
Anway
wasn’t high end geared lvl 60 chars first coming to hellfire peninsula a breeze, too?
They’ll also be the first not being gimped anymore.
There’s no way around the 78-80 dop-off. After that player power goes up again fairly quickly. Might as well get it out of the way quickly, and take advantage of the extra two delve keys, the 577 items from rares every day, the extremely fast dungeon leveling (may get nerfed), etc.
“if you dont value EA” is a useless argument. You get the whole pack, everything in it has its price. Taking one element out of that does not work here.
Wrong.
Char boost is also included in the base edition.
I have already factored in the 30 days game time (40 - 13 = 27).
Your rebuttal please.
It is the value perceived by the buyer that counts, not the price set by the seller.
Someone who only cares about EA has to pay 27€ to get it.
Ay don’t worry, on the 27th you gonna experience the same stuff, so yeah.

My bad.
Okay, let’s go down that path then:
base dition 49.99€
Epic Edition 89.99€, 40€ more.
One Transmog 20€
One Mount 25€
Two toys 20€
One pet 10€
That’s 75€ just for the store items.
TWW Epic Edition is the same price as Dragonflight.
We pay jack for beta and early access.
